Thanks for the mention Gavin... but it's Bowden

Long-time trance fan and TA so I'm excited to be DJing for a charity event that leads into the opener for Acosta. Never met him/seen him live so that'll be nice. Really shocked he's playing at TnG because it's more of a pop/house club rather than trance/rave. I'll be really happy to hear some stuff north of 128 BPM tomorrow night.

If any of you are interested in hearing some of my stuff, you can check out my podcast at www.auralpleasuresmusic.com and radio show every 3rd wednesday of the month on afterhours.fm (each episode is a little different so check out the AP website to see the tracklistings).

I remember playing downstairs during one night at One14 in philly, and he was playing the main room, went up to meet him, seemed like a nice guy. I think it's more his manager that's kind of the arrogant one...so ive heard. Anyways, glad to see he's still around, he's defintely one of the original US trance DJ's i ever listened to back in the day.

Wow, about 10K seems high.
My Googling shows that #59 is the highest he ever hit on DJmag's Top 100 and that was in 2006.

I know of top 50 DJs playing for half that in NY this summer.

afterhours.fm Keith?
Nice!!! What time on Wednesday?
Thanks to the Shoutcast APP, I can hit that up on my iPhone.

There are plenty of top 100 djs that would play NYC for just 1/4 of Acosta's $10k asking fee. And these guys are from out of the country.

Gavin, yup!

The SoundCloud app is awesome! I highly recommend it to every TA... great way to follow DJs/Producers and listen to their mixes/tracks for free.

George Acosta + Edgar V + Talla2xlc at space for a classics night in Nov 2005 was the best party of my life. All 3 went back2back for one hour. He throws a proper classics set. No doubt abt it. Heard another classics set by him in March2007 before I moved up here

George did not disappoint!
12:30 till 3am closing, full of his mashups, mixing sans headphones all night.
Mixes of redcarpet-alright, deSilva-touch me, great mashup of One &Chakalaka, teasing Traffic with an ID, daddyrock&insonmia mashup. Plus some mashup with Gouryella (sp)
Lots of crescendos, my friend in the booth said he was clipping the red all night.
Started immediately with Trance, moved to harder trance and big room trance. Last hour was lyrical trance with hard bass.
Only disappoint that my friend didn't play more.
House DJ played boring house for 2+ hours, never touching trance.

Can check Acosta off my 'to see' list.

Wow looks like you had a good night. Yah I wish I can afford to bring him back NYC, but I have to work on that lol...

He disappointed me

I've seen him a dozen times...definitely my least favorite time. Played some massive choons, but then he'd play some lame bullshit...no consistency in my opinion.

I hope so too, unless his managements are a bunch of ass hats...
