Am I wrong?

I could have sworn the sort of point to kotor was that it took place quite some time before the Empire ever existed. I mean... it's in the name, it was a Republic, not an empire.

Hey, it matters!

Yea so anyway, speaking of great games, who remembers Call of Duty when it was actually good? United Offensive was brilliant, and then the ******s sold out

CoD 1 was great.

Favorite PC games for me..

Divine Divinity
X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter (+ Balance of Power Campaign)
Guild Wars (before Nightfall came and fucked it all up)
Half Life
Half Life 2
Counter Strike: Source
Jedi Knight 2
Age Of Empires II (+ Conquerors)
Battlefield 1942
Portal

Divine Divinity is #1, after that everything else is just favorite games, not the specific order.

Posted by enydo on Oct-18-2010 12:33:

Starcraft
Half-Life
Diablo II
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (and Exodus)

Tons of great memories from all these games. The first game I ever played online was Starcraft, and my mutalisk army crashed my computer.

Not yet, Hal

Which is surprising since I was the first person to make a fansite for it and I'm good friends with the developers.. But oh well. Just been so busy / spending all my money on music. I'm going to buy the game after my birthday, though, I've decided. Waited too long. Need to play it.

Posted by Moongoose on Oct-19-2010 09:45:

Let me jump right in my list...

Transport Tycoon Deluxe ( the only game to always be installed on my computer since the day i bought it...though it has now been replaced with OpenTTD)
UFO: Enemy Unknown
Fallout 2
Arcanum
Grand Prix Legends / Falcon 4.0 (tied, cant decide which one is better)

Never played wing commander 2?

After playing it a bit more I think I actually really like the story, can anyone recommend any games similar?

- Gabriel Knight: Sins of the fathers (certainly the BEST game I have EVER played)
- Beneath a Steel Sky
- Broken Sword 1 & 2

Quake 2 Gloom

Gotta love those 3+ hour matches.

you mean wing commander III? or do you actually mean wing commander II?

they're both similar but wing commander III features FMV's, which are fucking righteous. in the 90's, that is. much better plot and graphics too imo. similar? try, obviously, wing commander IV. and wing commander prophecy. and WC: privateer and privateer 2: the darkening.

what i loved so much about WCIII was the fact that you could choose which direction the convo went. there was only two options, but this game did it waaaay before KOTOR ever did.

too many point-and-click adventures, not enough variety. :|

but yeah, GK1 was the shit. excellent fucking story. GK2 sucked though. and you have all those p'n'c's but no sam and max? day of the tentacle? full throttle?

Populous on the Genesis was actually awesome. I would play that one over the PC actually.

Hahah, yeah, I don't really know why I never got into Sam and Max. I've got all classics on my hard drive again waiting to be played native on my old pc though

all the point'n'clicks I mentioned have this fantastic atmosphere, like GK 1 for example (the non-talkie btw, I hated Knight's voice in the talking one); the music, the bookstore, drinking coffee every morning, Mosely. All in all it's just a fantastic game, begging to be played twice or even more.

To name something out of the point-and-click range I'd have to say

Total Annihilation or Command & Conquer. Having them both would be awfully tasteless obviously, since they both sort of are classics that every other person ever to own a pc would name.

And my dad was one of the lucky one's who got wing commander the kilrathi saga or whatever you call the windows 95 version, so I have 1,2 and 3 (which is now ridiculously expensive... like 200 bucks). Should get 4 though.

I meant 2, and well, I think I may have liked 2's plot better even though it was worse. As for fmvs... well there's c&c tiberian sun for that. Also as for space/air combat crimson skies was good.

So yeh, I guess I'm looking for similar atmosphere or gameplay.
