more like a cult.

I think his fans are the worst. "Oh Armin your the best forever. Nobody makes me feel like you do when you play a Swedish House Mafia song"

I can't wait for this era of dance music to be over. So bored of Tiesto, Armin, and PVD. At least pop artists go away after a few years. We have been force fed these 3 ******s for the last 10 years. I'm over it.

good, now him, david guetta, steve aoki and dj pauly d can finally form that supergroup of djs that the general public has been dying for.

I understand this is a decreasing battle: who are the worst...

In my opinion, tiesto fans are the lowest beings on earth. That species truly believes Tiesto is a god on earth. Try to check one of their videos alla "Tiesto best tracks", then you listen and realize there isn't even a single track by tiesto. All is Yahel, Push etc...

And if you point out: "hey, these track are not tiesto's" everybody jump on you "heeeey, he is god of trance", "he is lord of trance", "he invented trance".

Seriously how can you even debate with such "people"?

They are indeed, Armin has more fans on the internet, but Tiesto is more known to the regular guy on the street.. everyone has heard about him.

You'll find fans of many other artist reacting like that.

Waiting till this era of dance music is over sound totally ridiculous to me. There will be others you won't like. You're too much focused on what you don't like instead of what you do like IMO.
DJ's or artists I don't like don't bother me at all.

Sooooo agree! As much as I love trance, lets move these DJ's on already!

Posted by Rodri Santos on Oct-28-2010 19:21:

Tiesto and Armin were decent around 2000-2001 , now they both suck equally. Pop-House/Pop-Trance sounds equally bad. Tiesto had more success because his hits are more clubby, Armin focused more on fluffy trance, right now ASOT is what keeps him alive on the polls, people remember tiestos "hits" but i believe people only know in & out of love from Armin...

And talking about his play of One when the dutch lose the world cup (he refers in his dj mag interview) i've heard some people saying "The best version of "One" is the one played by AvB in Holland" wtf... people think Armin is god or something, when he press the play button sounds better or something like that...

Compare it to placebo effect

Posted by osterzone on Oct-28-2010 19:30:

Tiesto is trying to ride the Swedish House Mafia/Afrojack wave right now but it's already left him behind.

The guy got too big as a trance DJ and now he's trying to change styles. It's not going to work...people are expecting him to play trance when they go to his shows.

PVD is next to go downhill. As much as he used to be my #1 DJ for many years, he's pretty boring now. Even he stated on DJ Mag that he had a rough year and had to restructure his company. That should tell you something.

Trance is not dead, what is dead however are the old school trancers who are out of touch.
Armin, Tiesto, PVD, Ferry, Oakenfold...sorry guys. Over.

Tracks like Jochen Miller- Humanoid, Michael Woods- Dynamik, Mr Pit- Sky Traffic, Pobsky- Final Cloud, Markus Schulz- Surreal....these are all tunes that blew my mind this year and I am proud to say are TRANCE!

What is not trance is that pop vocal bullshit. I hate to say this, but looks like DJ Sammy was a freakin pioneer. Ahead of his time? What a disgrace. Screw this, its time for change. Actually last year was time for change but the ASOT sheep (who by the way complained every freakin week about how much Armin sucked) they still came out and supported their cult leader. Armin has been viciously raping trance to the point nobody wants to be associated with it. I feel bad for guys like Markus Schulz who says he is not ashamed of saying he is trance, but meanwhile he is furthest from the bullshit that ASOT people call trance. The fact that he is in the video "Where Trance Went Wrong" is also a disgrace. One listen to guys like him, Sied Van Riel, Phynn and even Michael Woods shows that they are in a different class.

I am so pissed right now at what is happening to this beautiful genre of music. Those greedy pricks (Armin and Tiesto) ruined it.

Which is exactly why he's pissing me off. I'm a big tiesto fan up to Kaleidoscope, but you don't build your career for 10 years as the biggest trance DJ and then spit everyone who supported you for those years in the face. I knew exactly in which direction he was going when I heard his Calvin Harris - I'm not alone remix and saw that he pretty much played it at every gig (still does I think). He was heavily influenced by Calvin Harris and Dada Life (they basically make his tracks nowadays) and started going into that direction and really tries to break into the mainstream US EDM scene. I said back when One (Know you name) was released it's only a matter of time before he starts doing something similar - well wouldn't you know it; he's doing a track with Busta Rhymes and another track with Jay-Z.

Seriously, he's like a kid in the toys store; "gotta have this, and this,...". So just look at what is popular at the moment and you can bet your ass there will be a tiesto track doing the same shit in 2-3 months.

reminds me of when paul oakenfold signed with madonnas label ages ago and started doing these crap collaborations trying to cross over. his fans hated the new music and he kinda failed at cracking the pop world.
