I think what he means is that taking their great tracks into account, under all their different alias, they have made a crapload of great contributions. Sure, they made a bunch of bad tracks, everyone does...but overall, the tracks that were huge, were really HUGE.

i know what he meant. i think that i would have trouble labeling anyone as the best producer EVER!!! i would say that out of that bunch i would have to throw oliver lieb on top. to me the producer/s that should be considered should be consistant and have a powerful impact on the genre. no one comes to mind immediately, but thats the qualities they would have to meet.

Just so EVERYONE knows, these are some of his aliases:

M.I.K.E
Push
Moon Project
Plastic Boy
Solar Factor
Yves Deruyter
Nevada
Intimo
Absolute
Musix
Ultra Vibe
Blackmaster

P.S. Haak dont kill me if I've forgotten any key aliases!

Dammit why can't trance producers just use their own names???
I bet when it comes down to it there are only about 5 trance producers in existence 'cept they keep using different aliases...

Even though some productions by Push I like, none of them I like that much.... and I agree at least when he uses his main alias he sounds very similar.

He doesnt produce AS Yves Deruyter....he produces WITH Yves Deruyter.....They are good friends of eachother....MIKE focussing more on producing and Yves more on dj-ing.

And Scot P's Music Doesnt sound similar?! LOL!

I think push is definatley one of the best.

Silver Bath is prob my fav... either that or universal nation... his best remix is prob

SpaceBros - Everywhere i go

I don't think M.I.K.E. has made many crappy tracks, I can easily name 60/70 tunes/remixes of him that I love

Posted by bodhichitta on Aug-01-2002 16:23:

I agree with those that say that Push is one of the best. I really love his style (esp. Push/M.I.K.E./Plastic Boy), it totally defines trance IMHO.

Another track I'd like to add to the mix already in this thread is

Push - Till We Meet Again (Album Mix)

Which I find to be a *stellar* track, and a defining trance piece. I find it a little surprising that it hasn't been mentioned here yet.

the best is yet to come...

Posted by IronDragon on Aug-01-2002 18:00:

I must respectfully disagree and say that to me, Darren Tate and Steve Helstrip to be as good as M.I.K.E.

That said M.I.K.E is likely in the top 5 (if not, not far behind) of any trance fan's list of producers and deservedly so.

he is Absolute? I've been looking for the full version of Stereo Sex for a while.. didn't know he was the guy behind this project.
Note that there is a full version out there, but it's not the one I'm looking for. I'm looking for the remix(?) that is on the Battle of the DJ's cd between Yves deruyter and Ghost. I wonder if that mix ever was released it was MINT and all I have is a mediocre mixed rip.

Posted by Ian on Aug-01-2002 22:45:

I thought Yves Deruyter was a seperate guy, and I think he's also Virtua Trancer if I'm not mistaken, tho that could be l-vee

Yves Deryuter is a seperate guy, and M.I.K.E. is Virtua Trancer btw...

M.I.K.E. and L-Vee are the best producers I know of. They produce so many tracks and most are top notch. I never get disapointed by their releases. Hope not to see that change anytime soon..

But I have to agree that Oliver Lieb is on the same level as these guys...

Dude, I have the 'original' version, full rip, 192kbits, and it's about 7:18 or so... is that different from the one you're talkin about?? If so, I'd really like to hear this other version!

Posted by blazed it on Aug-01-2002 23:10:

push = most excellent... not the greatest ever

but like somebody said before its all subjective as to who is the greatest ever.

but he is damn good.

I got that version too. It's good but I prefer the other one. I'm talking about a 6:34 rip from a mixed cd. Compared to that "original" it's a bit more simple production, yet it has a much powerful "evil" melody, so amazing it made my cousin (he thinks Linkin Park and Dr. Dre are the men when it comes to music) and my friend (a metal-head, though he likes a bit of trance I've shown to him ) to both like it. I desperatly need the full rip of this.. but I guess it's just an unfinished version of the track.. (but if it is sounds better than the finished one )

I know which one you mean, and I agree, it's WICKED! But I think it's called Monosex, it's the B-side to Stereosex, I don't have a full rip though

Heard about a Push remix of Ayumi HAMSAKI - Connected... (I talked about it in another topic). Just hope it's good and we'll be able to listen to this tune someday...
