what they're saying though is chem, his productions are very high-quality anyone can see that, so hence thats why people say that he deserves his top status. also, he works very hard, touring is so exhausting and could be like torture at times(example, flying to a different city the next day at another part of the world and doing a gig could really take a toll). in addition, all the time in the industry he has spent working as well on different levels. /cockrub

no doubt this is respectable. but his superstardom is just random. its a freak accident. you cant connect someone's skill or talent or even persistence directly to success.

The bottom line is he's been at it forever, and worked boatloads on his craft - as well as getting out there in a real way, making meaningful connections and establishing his own network which, ultimately, reinforced his ability to build success.

It's not the first time this has lead to epic success. In fact, it's pretty much what happens every time

Anyways, music is fun.

we will never ever hear about the backroom and boardroom dealings that happened to make it so.

i just get further convinced that you have to get away from that sound.

as compared to themau5?

Villalobos has skill, check out his production and his sets. and it's has been like that since the beginning of his career.

i've never even seen somebody post about this "amazing deadmau5 set man... this one set is the best set i have maaan... etc" nobody talks about the skill deadmau5 has in djing or building a set, getting a nice groove or direction going over a period of time. it's all hype over whether he is shit or respectable as a producer. not even talk about how well he made certain sections of his tracks, but how good it makes you feel. it's always "he's good" but never "this is why he is good". if deadmau5 has mastered something it is the buildup and the breakdown - but he cant sustain a groove or rhythm in a track without bringing in some white noise or some melodic line that increases in intensity. i'd like someone to at least say something technical about his sets instead saying "it's good". i've never heard him spin before. my idea of them right now is, if you take his tracks as a downscaled version of his sets, then i would imagine it's a whole bunch of buildups and breakdowns repeated over 2 or 3 hours. heavy basslines pulled back and dropped again and again with no sense involved.
