Fuckin D36 management screwing everything up again.

The booking offers my manager's been taking care of are from the week before Ultra, this whole WMC separation thing is weird!

I have read that the conference could not secure a host hotel the usual weekend because they were all booked out to promoters.

We fly down go to EP stay till the end go back to the airport get on plane and come home. That's it no hotel no nothing just 12 to 14 hours at get lost and come home. lol

This was my first year @ Ultra and WMC 2001, PVD played an amazing set, just like he used to @ Twilo. Gatecrasher had their tent directly across the main stage and it was an amazing vibe going on the whole day and night. So many good tents back then, Twilo actually had their own tent as well with all their residents playing.

I managede to sneak in my video camera into Ultra and recorded most of PVD set.

I gave up on Miami when Radio 1 stopped doing their free Friday party at Nikki Beach. To me, that party made WMC for me, not ultra or the night time club parties..it was all about sipping down a pitcher of mojito with 5 straws in it.

haha i love reading stories of how things were back in the day, in 2001 i was 11 listening to louie devito mixes lol in my room. Meanwhile all that crazyness was going on...

i know 2001 ultra i was in 7th grade ... man have times changed lol

yep! my first wmc in 05'... such memories! this year's was pretty dope tho, its not about ultra at all but all the pool parties are still crazyyyyyyy

all in all i dont really care...except im not rich and my boss doesnt want me out of the office more then i am IN the office...so going to WMC...then to UMF less then a month later....kinda blows.

just got word that i got the condo i originally booked for the week of march 22-27th back woo-hooooooo!!!!!!!

WMC is never been about ULTRA, UMF used WMC to get their popularity and now for whatever reason they decided not to do it the same week. Ultra doesn't give a damn anymore cause nowadays they are the ones who make the $$$$$$$ and bring in the masses. So i'm sure the clubs and promoters are going to be smart and have their parties on the same week as ultra.
As for WMC i like the idea to get separated it from UMF and go back to being what it was before but from a business standpoint I think is a bad call.

For those who go to Miami to experience WMC and not Ultra , we'll just have to wait for parties to get announced.

WMC was never going to have anything to do with UMF or ASOT this year....everyone should have clued into that back when armin announced the "WMC"/"miami" asot500 location.


UMF has now been removed from WMC's page and UMF has removed all prior years adverts (at least the initial quick to find ones) which show the DL association- ironically- otherwise id post you even more proof. HAHAHHA

my flight has been booked and payed for mid of march until end.
hotel is booked and payed
car is also booked and payed

and now they change the date ? ! ? !

people from all over the world booked the flights, after they saw the ultra anouncement, asot 500 anouncement .... and so on

and now ? all for nothing?

I really would like to know the REAL reason!
Are they in panic, that people go during the WMC to the parties, which dont belong directly to the wmc ? I am VERY VERY disapointed.

I spent soooo much money and changing flights and hotel is damn expensive.

so what now?

When we as TA send all emails and complain, maybe there is a way to give them so much pressure, that they think about the date ... just an idea.

Yeah should be interesting when the parties are. All reports point towards the Ultra week tho. I know many of the clubs and hotels are already booked for the last week. The beatport party is also confired for that week.

The European ASOT parties are organized by Alda Events, and the ones in North America are co-organized by them but are mostly headed by the venue or promoter themselves (Made Event/Guvernment in last year's case; this year's case, Ultra). Alda is a subsidiary of Armada, and David Lewis is Armin's booking agent, but these companies are all very very very far removed from the choices and factors that made Ultra separate this year.

Ultra Festival is its own entity and like most people are saying, I'm sure they've been so successful enough that operating on their own probably began to hurt the idea of WMC more than help it.
