Good stuff, listened to it last night and today again. Really interesting and energetic stuff. I don't know pretty much anything about this genre apart from the fact that i love it I enjoyed all the tracks apart from that glitch stuff inb4 the guitar at the end. But ok...

Anyway, you delivarad again. Cheers man

Posted by ziptnf on Dec-10-2010 19:34:

Thanks Vernon! So it seems to be hit and miss with the glitchcore stuff... I couldn't help it!

i finally checked this out ... schools been killin' me.

this one wasnt for me. i wasnt feeling the tracks all the way through. still, ill check out future sets cuz the concept was solid and i felt the work put into it.

best set i've heard in quite a while (i have had a hiatus from music for a while) epic on many levels. very much so.

the mixing i from what i can tell was decent, no obvious mistakes made, track selection is trippy as balls. i've just come back from egypt and they play rather repetitive eastern music, this was definitely a refreshing change i think they would of liked this, the goa injected unforgiving beats of drum and ze bass. the trakselektion is second to none, lots of dry mouth moments going on in there. i need to sip at my tea now

you've got yourself a very nice set here me ol mukka. i want moar

I hear that about school. I've been busting my butt too. Sorry that the set didn't do it for you, can't say I didn't try!

Hey thanks! Really glad you liked it. This mix seems to be different enough to cause varying opinions across the board.

I'm afraid there is no moar! It seems like absolutely nobody makes music of this style. I wouldn't even know how to start building another mix with this sound.

However, Silexz, one of the two amateurs of the set, has another track, as well as the rest of Cybernetika's album and the rest of Timecode Record's Broken. I don't think it would be quite as unique as this one though.

giving this a try even though I haven't been that fond of your earlier mixes

Sorry to disappoint.

Posted by netroM on Dec-13-2010 10:50:

You haven't "disappointed". It's just that full-on has never been my cup of tea.

But this was a really enjoyable mix, zip!

Only track I wasn't that fond of was the glitchy one at the end. It felt out of place.

Posted by ziptnf on Dec-13-2010 13:34:

Thanks, netroM! That glitch work is a real love/hate deal here! My reasoning was that sLime - The mould was a really tripped out, goofball track, so why not be even weirder and glitch the fuck out of your brain? It seems like some people think it worked, some people think it didn't. It's too bad I didn't have a whole bunch more of this stuff, but I'm sure that I wouldn't have made any changes to the tracklist regardless

But hey, I appreciate the listen. You're definitely gonna want to hear my mix next month

Posted by ziptnf on Dec-17-2010 14:46:

Only one bump for this thread. I think Grant and DJSoulstone still haven't responded.

Also, I was hoping Jack would listen, since he listened to my psystep set and knows a lot about DnB. SYSTEM-J, where you at?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Dec-19-2010 02:15:

I'm downloading it now. Just listened to the Cybernetika album and want more.

Can't say this one really grabbed me. The best tracks were clearly the Cybernetika ones, and with such a small number of tracks to work with, the quality of the rest just wasn't there for me.

You did a commendable job on the mixing, though.

Posted by ziptnf on Dec-21-2010 13:45:

Sorry, Jack, that's too bad. I think the Cybernetika tracks are top notch, but in my opinion, the Principles of Flight and Silexz tracks are just as good. Thanks for listening.

listening to this one again, I WANT MOAR NAO

Find it yourself!

But seriously, this was hard enough to put together as it was. Check out Violet Vision, he has a few remixes of psytrance tracks.

The album from Deimos is free on Ektoplazm:

The weirder stuff (and some tracks from my mix Broken Signal) came from the album WONK#OUT, which is available for free from the label here:

Phace has some pretty average productions, the track I chose seemed to be one of the few tracks he's made that sounded like psydnb. Also, recall what I posted earlier:

Here's the link to VA - Broken:

The Psilodump stuff is pretty interesting too, check out The Nya Albumet, available digitally at discogs:

Honestly, if anyone else has any ideas for suggestions, please let me know. This style is quite rare, and I'd love to hear more artists make this stuff.

Thanks man.

After listening to this, I think you EZ got the right tools to make a tune with this style. something around 130 140 bpm.

Posted by ziptnf on Dec-26-2010 06:39:

I'm not sure what you mean. You want me to make a tune?

Posted by Mise on Dec-26-2010 06:43:

well I was referring to EddieZilker, he is into the breakbeat style with lot of fx.

Posted by ziptnf on Dec-26-2010 06:46:

Oh I thought you meant that I could make a tune 'easily'. Yeah, Eddie could pour a lot of work into a crazy track!

Any comments on the mix itself?
