I took a quick look on yamaha's website and didn't see any other speakers that looked like that.

those things are cheap.. higher grade studio monitors run for more around $1,500 EACH.
but for me, my $100 CND (each) monitors are good enough.
clear, good volumes, and a sub to compliment.
of course I always monitor with headphones aswell, to prevent speaker flaws from destroying a mix (such as the scenario lexicon has provided for us
)
plus, what kind of bookshelves run at 100-18,000 Hz ? That's rediculous. my radioshack cheapo speakers even run at 65-22,000 Hz
plus like i said, my cheapo radioshack sub pounds down the frequencies at 40-160 Hz.
It's not perfect, but you know it is good enough.
meh, if they are good enough for Armin, they are good enough for me 
and by the way, I just found confirmation that these are indeed the speakers Armin uses.

I use B&W C series.. AWESOME..
DJ Chrono, what model are your monitors?
I use Merak MB6's.
