so how does it feel pounding me from behind ?
Should I get an aids test ? or maybe an IQ test. I hear stupidity is contagious. Give it a rest man.
I used it every once in a while on a buildup with my mixer. (ecler evo 5).
Interestingly, it didn't come stock on the unit but was added later in a firmware update (prob due to the popularity of the effect I'm guessing).
Ladies, please... put your handbags away.
I think 'appropriate' use of FX is a very good skill for DJs to learn. So many people on here especially say FX are for clichd mickey mouse DJs etc, but I think any effect you might find on an FX box has a time and a place if use right. Doesn't mean you have to, but it's all part of knowing how to get the most out of your kit - which is a concept which reaches far wider than knowing when to press the orange button.
The simple example is filters. I now feel strangled without them, but that doesn't mean I just want to do big swooshing effects over every breakdown with a silly grin on my face. With the resonance turned down, a slight high-pass filter (~200Hz) can remove bass rumbles which the EQ would have let through, which can two tracks sit side by side much more harmoniously. Similarly, a slight low pass (~5kHz) can keep an incoming track on the down-low as it comes in, which you can then turn off to add back in that nice sizzle and make it sound like a line of hi-hats has just been added in.
Flangers, phasers, echo, delay, reverb, pitch shifting and bitcrushers can all have their place, even in a deep house or acid jazz set, but subtlety is the key.

Holy shit. If cabledigital didn't seem like an idiot before he sure does now.
Do you run your "label" this way too?
I only got round to reading all this shite there.
Mad4Brad, try not to antagonise the new members. Not having a go just saying, you are the master of button pushing
New member, act your age (or at least the age you've put down in your profile, shockingly 31) and stop feeding people who's opinions you don't appreciate.
I don't enjoy (nor does anyone else) reading this bullshit.
The thread has been answered. Effects have there place with people who know how to sparingly use them. Obviously they'll get over used hence the bad rep.
I'm closing it.
