Yeah, but with the girls you go after you don't really have to worry about that, now do you?

i used to use mach3 turbo's, but tried using schick quattro and definitely stuck with me. MUCH better, imo.

i just shave in the shower, with regular soap. and i do it every day too.
the quattros keep me pretty smooth, even after multiple uses.

I find that you can get a better/closer shave with better product, not necessarily a different razor. Look into a proper shaving set with better face wash, lather, shaving foam/cream and after shave.

There's one called Art Of Shaving that's pretty good.

Good call, actually. I used the regular Gilette shaving foam for ages, and it was ok. Last year I changed to some Nivea moisturising stuff, and it's heaps better.

ive become a huge fan of shaving with an x-acto knife

I use a Gillette Sensor 3 on my neck, and always have stubble on my face.

I've used everything from discount Gillette knock-off's, to the the most recent Gillette ProGlide, and I've yet to come across any razor that fails to leave a reasonable amount of stubble afterwards. The only notable difference I've noticed is that the lower-end razors just leave more of it over time faster than the brand-name ones do.

It's not at all a problem, though, as I rather prefer a bit of stubble at all times, so I guess my razor's deficiencies are my gains.

i have (thankfully) never been particulary hairy (my arse is like stu's noggin). so its an electric razor for me.

I shave my head once a week, queerboat. Your arse hair must grow pretty quick.

An electric razor makes sense for you though. Lazy fucker

yep!

though im pissed off. i dropped it a couple weeks ago, so the long hair trimmer bit is broken. so now i have to shave regularly, coz if it gets too long i'll have to buy a new razor haha.

I finally decided to meet nature halfway, and shave my head on a regular basis, as well. I've been using this thing:

I'm never able to do it entirely on my own, though.

That's not what I mean... I deliberately grow a short beard on my face, but shave from the jawline down with a razor. The Sensor 3 rarely gives a super-smooth finish but I don't really care on my neck, and the blades are a lot cheaper than the top end models.

How close does it shave?

And why can't you do it by yourself?

Upon the closest shave, it always leaves you with a very small amount of stubble on your head, which (again), I prefer. So yeah, very close, but depending upon how you understand 'shaved,' it may not necessarily shave your head (not like yours, at least). But it's very quick, and is simply a matter of taking the clippers off, and adjusting it to the lowest possible setting.

And I said I can't do it entirely by myself; I always need someone else to help me clean up my neck and even out a few patches, here and there.

Posted by tubularbills on Dec-16-2010 12:24:

also i don't use any aftershave at all.

When I was in the Marines my whole paycheck was dedicated to buying razors, it sucked.

I used Gillette Fusion Power shit, was the only razor that didn't carve my hairy ass up.

Now that I don't need a close shave I got this cheap Wahl beard trimmer that leaves me with a little stubble. I also use it to shave my head. Come to think of it, this piece of crap works really well and I've had it almost 2 years.

I use the Norelco Bodygroom to shave my ass and trim my pubes into a star.

I agree prep is one of the most important part of shaving especially if you have coarse hair. Take the time to properly hydrate your hair you'll get a closer shave with less irritation. My favorite is Tabac shaving soap, I'll never be able to go back to goo in a can.
