I'm neither Dem or Rep - I can't vote and have a deep understanding of not just the US political system but also various european systems.

What Republicans Voters fail to realise is that revenue has to come from somewhere, and some form of government is needed. You can't spend more AND cut taxes.

Now let's get real here - government spending went up under Bush. Hard. And by hard, I mean fucking scary.

But yet, while this was happening, taxs cuts were introduced by that very republican govt, and the Dems, being the pussies that they are, let it continue.

The money has to come from somewhere, and republicans, can't just trun around now and go "we need smaller govt and less spending" after they lapped it up for 8 long and very expensive years.

The tax cuts on the rich and super rich Directly benefited Bush's family and his friends. This is not a point of argument - it is cold hard plain fact, in the same way that Dick Cheyney personally made at least $5bn (at the most conservative estimates) from the Iraq war.

The tax revenue needs to come from somewhere, and cutting spending, with exception to defense (which is nothing more than welfare for private defense contractors), is not the answer - cutting tax breaks on those that make a lot of money is the sensible and fiscally responsible solution. It has been proven that trickle-down reaganomics did work, as so stunningly represented by the poverty gap and the massive recent increase in the wealth of the superrich, the poulation of the poor and the simultaneious shrinking of the middle income bracket.

Therfore suggesting taxes be raised 10% across the board does nothing to address the balance, which is the entire problem in the first place.

As Eddie has commented, there is no excuse for the Zadroga bill not to have been enacted other than protective politics. It is damn easy to to create a panel to oversee spending with incremental and baord supervised released of funds. And let's be honest here; 7.4bn is a drop in the ocean compared to the spending the last administration got signed off without anything in terms of substantiation.

This post makes way too much sense.

As if there was any doubt before among the reasonable among us, heres an actualy study to confirm what we have been saying for years

Fox News viewers are much more likely than others to believe false information about American politics, a new study concludes.

The study

quote:
However, while consumers of just about every news outlet believed some information that was false, the study found that Fox News viewers, regardless of political information, were "significantly more likely" to believe that:

--Most economists estimate the stimulus caused job losses (12 points more likely)
--Most economists have estimated the health care law will worsen the deficit (31 points)
--The economy is getting worse (26 points)
--Most scientists do not agree that climate change is occurring (30 points)
--The stimulus legislation did not include any tax cuts (14 points)
--Their own income taxes have gone up (14 points)
--The auto bailout only occurred under Obama (13 points)
--When TARP came up for a vote most Republicans opposed it (12 points)
--And that it is not clear that Obama was born in the United States (31 points)

In addition, the study said, increased viewership of Fox News led to increased belief in these false stories.

So much for news then

Also, repubicans support (or at least cant be bothered to do anything against) child marriage. Good job you conservative family values guys.

How did I miss this post? "Here is an actual study to confirm....". OKAY. I'm almost embarrassed for you man. This is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Your beloved feel-good study "confirming" that Fox News viewers are ignorant and uninformed.... WAS FUNDED BY RADICAL SOCIALIST GEORGE SOROS. That's right- World Public Opinion.org is funded by the Tides Foundation which is propped up by millions of dollars annually of George Soros money. His money also funds Media Matters and several other media advocacy groups that put out a constant propaganda front on Fox News. Do some research instead of blindly falling off the cliff like a lemming.

You are what they call a "useful idiot" for the Left.

Yeah... I actually like the guy when off politics; he's probably cool to hang out with. Just wish he wasn't so reactionary towards me before doing some actual research.

But seriously, now youre just chanelling Glen Beck you know, he does this circus act where he accuses Soros of everything short of 9/11 because, well everyone knows that the jews did that...wait Soros is a jew? Well that certainly explains it then. Dirty old liberal jew, putting together foundations, doesnt he know that conservatives can do that! (want a list of conservative foundations with an agenda btw? Can only name a dozen or two off the top of my head but if i do the research i might come up with a few more)

Also, i actually did some research which is why i can claim that fox news is a wholly owned subsidiary of the republican party (or vice versa, you cant really tell after the last election). I know you dont listen to me, but if i keep telling you that faux news has a strong conservative/business bias, the rest of the board keeps telling you keep telling you that faux news has a strong conservative/business bias, 150 million americans keep telling you that faux news has a strong conservative/business bias and the whole rest of the world keep telling you that faux news has a strong conservative/business bias then something must be up. You say i need to d0o some research. I did. How about you. Did you do any research or are you just blindly following faux?

P.S
Im totally cool to hang out with, im sure if we were to hang out we would have a blast...unless of course the topic of politics were to comd up in which case we would probably end up fighting eachother and since youre a conservative theres a better than average chance that you would end up shooting me

Posted by DJ RANN on Jan-08-2011 22:17:

Can someone please explain to me how one of the richest men on earth, and possibly one of the largest currency speculators in history, is "A RADICAL SOCIALIST"?

Also, let's end the Fox bias debate, right here, right now, for ever:

Fox's founder and president, Roger Ailes, was for decades one of the savviest and most pugnacious Republican political operatives in Washington, a veteran of the Nixon and Reagan campaigns. Ailes is most famous for his role in crafting the elder Bush's media strategy in the bruising 1988 presidential race.

Murdoch, the owner of Fox news, also happens to own nearly every right wing newspaper and tabloid in the UK, as well as many other (self acknowledged) right wing or ultra conservative media outlets. IN fact when he bought the Times, there was a very serious threat from the UK media watchdogs, to the point he is not allowed any editorial control over the paper, so it remains centrist or partisan, something the partisan media watchdogs were concerned enough to go to court over judging his track record.

Finally, it is estimated that 80% of all the employees at Fox are republican. 5 our of 5 of their "celebrity anchors" (palin etc) are potential 2012 candidates which is going to leave Fox in a lot of trouble come the 2012 elections as no active candidate is actually allowed to work for fox while running for office.

Now, let's just agree that it is a Right wing, conservative republican mouth piece in the same way that Bill Maher admits that he's a liberal or Glen Beck admits he's a republican.
