-- So, guys, what's the most expensive record you've purchased?
Pages (2): « 1 [2]
The most I've spent on a vinyl is 25, and that was for John Rees vs Helios - Beta Blocker (JR Trance Mix), and then I bought another copy of it from a different seller, also for 25. Then I sold one of these copies for 50 a week later.
Sign me up for the mother fucking Apprentice please.
Ps. Does anyone want to buy a copy of John Rees vs Helios - Beta Blocker (JR Trance Mix) for 50?

Now i discovered that it goes for around 100. It's freaking insane. |
$30 for mint copy of Leama - Requiem For A Dream
$30 for mint copy of Young American Primitive
$30 for mint copy of Terra Ferma - The Adventures Of...
$30 for mint copy of L.S.G. - The Black Album
$40 for Blue Amazon - Javelin 2 Disc Australian Edition
38.95 for mint Forbidden Paradise 6
35.95 for mint Forbidden Paradise 3
$60 for Sasha & Digweed - Northern Exposure
It takes a lot for me to pay more than $20 for a single record or album.
Nothing, never bought one

I paid close to $100 for TIP Yellow or TIP Orange on vinyl back in the day... dunno what made me that crazy for it; the same records cost next to nothing nowadays.

Back in my vinyl-buying days I once shelled out $200 for this: http://www.discogs.com/Tekknova-Las.../release/205513
I suppose prices/money spent is a relative thing, but $200 sure was a lot of money to shell out for two tracks.

| Originally posted by Mr.Mystery I've never paid over 30 for a record, and even then I'd think twice before buying anything. I generally never even buy any "regular" record for a normal price, almost everything I do buy is from the bargain bin. It's ridiculous how much people are willing to pay for some records - I've recently discovered I seem to own a fair few records that people are willing to pay a lot of - and I've bought them all from bargain bins, sometimes just mere months ago. For example, someone bought this record for 72 when I paid about 5 for it less than a year ago. |
arbitrage opportunities are a many...
A non-dodgy version of Kate Bush Vs Infusion - Running Up That Hill (12", S/Sided, Unofficial). Paid 15 + shipping (ordered a bunch of other stuff then too, so I can't remember exactly how much I paid for the shipping). I think it's a lot for one single tune, but it was well worth it as it's one of the best tracks I know.
I think I've got loads of CDs I could get a lot of money from selling and most of them I've paid very little for. Some are even stuff I wouldn't have much trouble parting with. Sold some terrible Svenson CDS and the CDS of Holden & Thompson - Nothing (which doesn't even have the full length versions) to some chap for 50. I think I paid like 5 for them combined, if not less.
$30 + shipping for a hard copy of Solar Fields - Earthshine
I remember paying quite a bit of money on records and then i sold them all......
I remember buying the following:
http://www.discogs.com/Carl-Craig-N...rds/master/5857 (75GBP)
http://www.discogs.com/Rabbit-In-Th...k/release/60151 (50GBP)
http://www.discogs.com/Paperclip-Pe...ce/release/2395
(50GBP)
this was about 6 years ago - I wonder how much they would be if I would have kept onto them.
