It might be 10 years old now but I still love the reaction of people hearing it for the first time.

The Avalanches - Since I Left You

It's sublime that a 3 piece scratch outfit out of Australia could ever sound like this. Beats, symphonic chord arrangements, samples flying in from everywhere, and yet if people aren't told that it's actually 3 guys scratching records, then they never seem to guess.

Such a shame that this is the only full length album they ever did.

Apparently they're working on another that should be out soon-ish. If I remember correctly it's taking forever to clear the samples.
