Thanks for the heads-up.

But it's Texas & S. Central USA...

How else am I going to know about all the Beatport commercial artists that are going to play at their club now?

Part info and reviews section. Or by bookmarking beatportal.

Yeah, no more crap like that in txta. Time to bring it back to [non-spam] life. Somebody post some mixes. I know you fruits have some sitting around.

I would but I quit Djing in early 2005 and I have nothing recorded

Anybody know of some nicer, more modern lofts/apartments/townhouses up near or in the woodlands (a little south is ok)? Tired of being stuck so far away from 45. Found a place that's almost perfect, but the premiums they're charging for being the best thing around are almost out of control. Ideas?

Shaw, I have looked for exactly that for the past 3 years.

Basically, all the appartment complexes on/off 45 are either a dump, a decent budget appartment (but not exactly upkept well or classy), or super fucking expensive and not worth your money (might as well rent/buy a house).

But if you find one, let me know. I am interested in about the same... the premiums the nice places charge are rediculous. Alot of the complexes pretend to be so classy, charge a big premium, but are basically a dump.

Should we start a thread of Texas local mixes? Or each mix in its own thread?

Lets bring back some life to this section and region! Would love to hear mixes from other people in the area even if its not what I would typically listen to or go see, but not mixes people are posting to mindlessly promote themselves. You know, mixes from the people who frequent this section.

Posted by civicstyle on Feb-05-2011 18:21:

Good idea. Will post my tracklist to my most recent mix (my first) in a few.

Posted by shaw on Feb-05-2011 19:16:

Feel free to make threads for 'em. Better that TXTAs spam the front page than threads from a month ago do.

As for the apartments, there's a place right by market street, but it's absurd. Literally, a 1500+ anywhere else is the same price as 800 there. It's in a perfect spot, though, and I don't know how much longer I'll be here full time (might be less than a year) so buying a house doesn't appeal to me. Apparently, it's got a bunch of 'green living' shit I could not care less about, but for which I'm sure I'd be paying. Meh. There are some lofts downtown and in the heights, but I have to be in Carlton Woods almost every day.

Posted by shaw on Feb-05-2011 19:52:

For the record, premiums are fine, and I may just bite the bullet and go there, anyway, but I'm hoping to find at least some other options (gonna head to riva row now & see what's up).

Posted by Desiderata on Feb-05-2011 20:04:

I feel left out since I quit Djing 6 years ago. I wa decent too for a bedroom Dj.

But, I will enjoy listening to ya'lls sets.

Trying to help bring back TXTA.

Decided to bite the bullet and get the place I wanted. Expensive, but it's what I was looking for, and I've got space to add a roommate if need be. Phew.

Roomates suck in the long run though, so I hope you can afford the place on your own.

It will be the only item on that trip.

It's funny--I was debating having movers come by, because it seems like I have amassed so much stuff. Then I realized it's about 80% electronics I don't want movers even looking at. Hell, I'd be better off having my car stolen than my HT setup.

I hear ya man. Thankfully my main assets consist of $15K worth of photography gear, which is relatively easy to move around. I mean, it's kinda designed for that

Also got a lot of music gear though

Howdy.

The good thing about it, Stu, is that I will finally have to re-do my wiring. Gonna bust out the pure silver stuff this time.

We got a motherfucking purist in the house, awww yeah

Posted by shaw on Feb-11-2011 08:08:

We have a spool that's been sitting around for years now, because it's 'too expensive to use at any of our houses. I'm just going to put an end to that nonsense.

I'll take a picture of it tomorrow. It's great.

For some reason when I was reading his posts, I had a meet the parents moments, like a widdled airplane wing hung by spool?
