HAHA in that case im wondering why i even have discussions with you people - its like having a discussion with a christian. I thought this part of TA where a little more real.
I don't know, i just stopped feeding trolls a long time ago
Come on, what do you expect a discussion on what people define intristic value for their needs? That's just a rathole.
In don't need to convince anyone, neither the other way around.
You can not define for me where to find value and fulfillment, neither can i for you. I can explain why i do what i do, but if you find it crap? your call. Same rules apply the other way around.
The only difference is: i still can do all the stuff that you do. And if i really want to i can also do it better. as in tighter, punchier, more warmth, bigger stage, without those crappy phased stereo spread artifacts. Do you find value in that? if yes, good for you, If not than no need to convince eachother right?
- The proof of hte pudding is in the eating
- Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
- Lack of funds is always a compromise for decission criteria

Ok, let's rephrase this before it turns into an unintended cat fight.
You can you better quality productions with my gear can you can do in your box. Does that sound better?
you don't have to like my music, it's not a problem.

Imagine what my gear could acomplish in "capable" hands
(Beatflux, you will not piss me off, i'm not tempted to enter a cat fight at all.)

I hope that helps the debate somewhat!
OP - you asked about how to do away with monitors.
In this months Future Music mag a well know producer (I can't recall his name!!) show cased his studio and shockingly has never used monitors. He uses an ancient pair of white cheapo pc speakers he rescued from a skip!
I've come accross other examples of this too.
Ok maybe not ideal, but none the less some pro's do it. Also I knew a chap on the Anjuna forum who got some good releases, all done using basic headphones.

im not angry at all, i just try to save the OP from money and frustration. software will get the job done! analog hardware will also get the job done but its meant for religious fanatics with lots of money and time. the answer maybe is somewhere in the middle (a computer with a daw and some VA-synth).

what im trying to say is that you can make good music without money at all, if you have a ok computer. download Reaper (www.reaper.fm) and some free VST synths (Synth1 is awesome) and some samples/loops etc and your set to atleast find out whether this is something you want to spend money on later.
