Originally posted by srussell0018 I've listened to sets of his ever since his tracks like Dark Roast came out. It's funny that you're commenting on a show that you weren't at, but that's besides the point. DJ's tend to play for the crowds that are there, and since there didn't look to be 3 people over the age of 30 there, I doubt they would have been into his older stuff. That being said, I thought the sound system there was a little lacking in the highs department, which definitely has more of an impact on trance/tech than house. Maybe that's why everyone in the review thread is all up on Deko-ze's dick and hating on SvD. Granted, Deko-ze is amazing, but I think a lot of it is just people hating on people who have become largely successful (i.e. Armin, Deadmau5, etc.). Anyone who has heard any of SvD's productions over the past few years (with the exception of Love is Darkness) should know that he doesn't produce cheese at all. What he enjoys making is vastly different from what he plays live. Again, younger crowds enjoy the cheese, although I'd have to disagree that his set was anything resembling fluff or cheese (with the exception of Love is Darkness again lol).
You guys can argue what is cheese and what isn't for days and not agree. Truly in the eye of the beholder and subjective to a persons opinions and likes... If you like newer SvD then good, if you prefer his older stuff then great. Just get what you want out of it and leave it at that.

Originally posted by srussell0018 I agree with that. It's just annoying all of the trance snobs on here who think their opinion is the only one that matters. If you don't like SvD's newer style, don't go to his shows and then complain about how bad you thought it was.
the real take home message from all of this is that trance sucks. and house is where its at.

Originally posted by love_child yeah I still love Sander and I went to all of his shows in T.O since 2006 minus the show at BETA... just saying that I like his older style as opposed to his newer style of mixing and track selection. I never said his productions are cheese either.
