you know what would be awesome would be like 3 ipads in legnth put together as one unit. Alas the pro audio industry is never a priority.

we have an interesting 22" touch screen at work at the moment. its connected to Windown though so its pretty boring. going out to some customers in two weeks.

There's this computer store in Zurich I went to last year. They have little to no stock in the customer area, just fucking massive (60 inch?) touchscreens laid flat, for you to browse through their stock inventory. It was like using giant ipads. Fucking rad.

can i draw JPGs on iPad?

palm, enough questions. I don't fuck around with gimmick apps. It is a great controller, and it can control your computer, and it has handy time keeping apps.

That is all I use it for. It isn't a solution to use your laptop by remote. Maybe for a day if you are too lazy to get up but every day, not really that viable. Look for the price , it is better value than any other hardware for controlling your DAW. But nobody knows how long they will last. I mean they are cheap and I take care and the touchscreen tech is a few years old ( apples version anyways ) but I think you expect them to do everything.

One thing that is upsetting is that the IMS20 is better than the AU version.

Are you saying, that if I leave my imac on at home, then go to work, I can say, open up logic and produce my current track, as if I were at home?

I was at a meeting 3 days ago and I was there with my boss, the director and the producer and he didn't like one cue and was just thinking about going with music and of course we didn't want that as we don't get paid and I had a feeling and it is usually a case of too many things going on which makes directors nervous so we could of said, ya we will work on it, I say , umm hold on 2 seconds. Load my project up. This thing has 2 macs with a total of 18 gigs of ram. Mute the one instrument. Done. And everyone was like, well that was fucking cool.

The thing with laptops is that they get in the way of eye contact. It was so sweet just like unpacking the pads in their cases, the whole thing took 4 minutes to get working most of it was just loading ram from home.

Then we watched a south park episode I had on my hardrive.

And I'm pretty sure they all went out and bought an ipad after. I mean the iphone is just too small to really be handy. The ipad is the perfect size. Not too big so that you can engage people and not feel like your behind a computer but have a computer with you.

Fuck, I've just been reading that the ipad 2 is going to be launched in March, but due to serious competition upping the anti, the rumor goes it looks like they are bringing forward the launch of the ipad 3 (yes, three) to september 2011.

WTF am I supposed to do now?

It's not about money - I always seem to push the technology I have to the edge (download torrents on my phone, max out my imac, etc) so when something new comes out, I find I very quickly discover it's shortcomings or limitation, and that means if they bring out a new version of anything, I get super pissed.

im like that too, thats why i havent even looked at the iPad before this monday (out of curiosity after watching m4b spaceship). and i didnt get touch phone before today (no not iPhone). and i dont like it. theres only a few peace of technology i ever liked as it all seems so beta and clumsy. id love to begin with designing hardware soon, i have crazy ideas in that area. id make the perfect audiocomputer. also id make the iPad nano into a phone. oldschool dialwheel lol.

im still wondering if i want this iPad thing or not. hopefully the next version will convince me. id love to put rebirth on it.

iPad2 coming March 11

March 25th here. I have other priorities with the baby coming and other stuff, but I'll keep an eye on the new one when it comes out. The first one is more than enough for me so far.

the new one looks like a toy. im glad cause now i dont want it anymore. ill wait for MBP with Touch.

I wish they would stop trying to make things so small. Americans are so fucking lazy. God forbid you have to lift something that might burn some calories. Maybe its cheaper to make something thin instead of adding more ram or power. Other than that , it pretty much looks the same minus the camera which is actually a nice addition for things like skype.

And that will never happen, because that's fucking stupid. Mac OS is not designed for touch input, it never WILL be and a laptop with a touch screen is completely ridiculous, all the blood would just run from your hands and you'd eventually just default back to the keyboard and mouse.

Apple has already denounced the idea because it doesn't even make any sense.

And how does the iPad 2 look anything like a toy? It's available in black and white, if you think the white one looks like a toy then get the black one? How the fuck can this look like a toy to you but not the original iPad? The designs are extremely similar, the only difference being this one is a bit thinner and has a flat back so that it doesn't rock back and forth when you set it on the table....

The processor is twice as fast and the graphics are 9 times faster and that makes it an even more capable control surface.
