you are the one making them. There are beatport figures in terms of sales. I stated a ballpark average that is pretty accurate.

I also think mainstream exposure is key to sales. Why do you think so many regular people know about and buy Deadmau5, Tiesto, and Swedish House Mafia songs, but never heard of Sasha? They're getting major mainstream exposure. Same goes for Chuckie, Guetta, and Afrojack. Those last 3 are ridiculously known in the mainstream right now and are making bank!!!!

shazam is actually better than i thought it would be.

I spent a few hours once digging through some of my more obscure stuff to try and stump it, and i will say it still easily got about 70% of them.

Yeah definitely, I've used it a few times whilst listening to sets and was surprised by the amount of tracks I got results for.

i tried it while nailing my girlfriend and it came up with Axel Rose's chinese democracy.
