I've actually been playing house prog house electro house you know real crowdpleaser stuff I'm just honestly tired of it lol aren't there any substantial trance followings in manhattan?
It's been mentioned already, but going out and meeting people and networking is the most important thing you have to do. Also be humble don't be arrogant, being ambitious is good, but be realestic, and have a game plan.
But networking is not all, first you have to be good. Your demo has to show why a promoter should give you a chance. My first demo I made, I worked on it for 3 months straight. By the end I had over 100 different demos, but one really amazing one. I instantly got an opening spot for Jon O'bir, and that hard work, and practice really does help, and continues to help.
Also don't except to go to the big promoters and get a gig, but there are plenty of smaller promoters doing local trance events, go out to those and get to know people. Then you can build up a good following if your good.
And in the way the industry is today, you have to be diverse, don't stick to just trance, but don't lose your core love. You can still play trance, but be open minded, and get into to house, techno, minimal, etc, and learn how to mix it all together. You will be suprised you will find tracks from those genres that fit your style. This can take you a long way to being a much better dj.
If you dont' get a gig right away don't get discourage, just keep looking forward.

Hey guys can you point me in the direction of some trance spots in the city? Maybe some parties on thursday? I checked the local area info and didnt really find anything - Im gonna hit up Stay on E Houston next monday but got nothing else going on. I really wanna start putting my stuff out there and meeting promoters. Any help appreciated. Thanks guys!

lol ^ thats funny - where is the Bunker located? Any spots have consistent trance nights instead of just the occasional promotion company coming in and taking over a random venue for one night?

sounds like you get enough pussy as it is with those advances. Not stardom - just exposure. As I said Ill play for free I dont mind - in the backroom of some C-list venue just as long as I can make out of BK and into Manhattan.

Don't take me seriously. if you want serious advice read all the previous advices. these guys know what they are talking about. and no one can help you virtually really. you must come out and be seen. at least post a mix online. im sure if you bring skill won't be long before people will ask for you to come to play along side!

But a yearmix isnt a good promo mix. Im working on a new demo now. And yea i def gotta get out there and be seen. Whats a good approach to talk to promoters anyway? I wanna go to Stay on Monday for trance night and idk how to approach the promoter...
^^ if your interested on internet stuffs there are a kazillion internet radio stations. you can send them demos and ask for a mothly show but make sure you can commit and bring them quality. And then be certain to promote yourself well. its another good way to get exposure. wont get you a TON- i mean, realisticly, radio shows are a dime a dozen...actually no. radio shows are comepltey free and number in the upper tripple digets on a weekly basis- but do it anyway 
so i took a listening to your mix and i give it a:
these are my opinions , i dont mean to be mean just strait with you.
first impression: excited about the tracks but how are you going to fit 50 track in 80 mins.
starting to listening to it
--track selection: 8/10 very cool selections
--vibe of first half of your mix : 5/10 , just like i thought as the first impression. you had too much happening too fast. good mixing, i wasn't bored but i wasn't feeling the vibe either.
- 10/10 for dropping Ice Mc's thing about the way. haha that got me excited
- vibe of the other half of your mix: 8/10, an contrary to what i said above you pulled this off very well. even though for a trance mix you were cutting off too fast you really had a great energy coming out of this second half
-overall : great mixing skills. but for my opinion trance mix should not have a 30 sec cut. its a kind of music that people need to connect to it.
i give you and overall grade of 7/10. and that's because the second half saved you.
