Not my fault. If they wanted to go they should've gotten tickets. That's how supply and demand works, they missed their chance, and now what, you want people to sell them their tickets for no profit? Especially when they'd be probably losing money on airfare and hotel stay as well?

Get real. "What happened to this music bringing people together?!?!" Selling your own tickets to a complete stranger is not "bringing people together."

Besides, I'm not even selling my ticket, so have fun not going

as far as supply and demand...you are not giving any of this to the artist, correct? Or am i making a false assumption. Or are you giving a portion of the proceeds to the event coordinator? Or to the many unpaid volunteers? OOOOH or are you donating money to a music charity?

so my statement stands. supply and demand is an excuse to try and not look so greedy. If you are going to be money hungry and bitter then at least fess up to it

Yes, I'm being incredibly greedy in jokingly trying to recoup some of the $200+ airfare, $~300 on tickets, and $700 for 4 nights stay at a hotel.

Do you not understand what supply and demand means? There is currently a very limited supply of tickets available for purchase (ebay, craigslist, etc.) The fact that there is a very limited supply, and the high desirability for this event means that the demand is very high. Thus, people can charge way more than they paid for them, because desperate people are willing to pay whatever it takes.

Take a high school economics class and then shut your mouth. Nice job on your math though. 179x5=895. 4x250=1,000. 1,000-895=30? Maybe you might want to go back to elementary school math as well.

Don't get all high and mighty saying it's wrong to charge so much when you made a profit yourself, you fucking hypocrite. Maybe you should donate that to some charity that helps children to grow up to not be as dumb as you are.

If someone is going to pay that much then theyre the ones guilty...my concern has more weight, i guess...when there are literally NO tickets left and EVERYONE is selling at incredibly unfair prices...then i have to ask of the people without tickets- im sure there must be SOME that deserve to be there but wont be able to due to the insanity..?

maybe im just a sucker but i really hate the thought that so much money is being charged and simply put into pockets when some people really just couldnt get the tickets in time (i mean, i am one of them. Im not rich....im also horrible with finances...there are plenty of times i simply can NOT buy the tickets right away but can a couple weeks later)

It's really very simple. If you can sell a pass for $1,000, why would you sell one at-cost or even a little bit more than that? You'd be stupid not to. If they can't afford it, they won't buy it, and if they can't go then so be it. It was their own fault for not getting tickets in the first place. It's not like this is anything new anyways. That's just how it is, when you have something that people are desperate to acquire, you're well within your rights to charge whatever they're willing to pay.

There's nothing wrong with that. There's also nothing wrong with making a load of money off of stupid people. Obviously if it was a friend of mine who needed a pass and I had extras, I'd sell it to them almost at-cost, but if it's a complete stranger, who cares?

Honestly hand over fist I saw it last year $350 cash for saturday ticket alone! Which if you bought pre sale cost you $80. That's a a sick profit! I think people will buy Sunday tickets for at least that amount.

I've kinda looked at buying extra tickets to UMF as a smart investment myself. They become 3x to 5x their value come festival time because some people are so desperate and dumb.

Desperate and dumb! Exactly! Lol! My friends sold their tickets in 15 minutes walking in front of bayside. Some people were asking more don't know if they sold them.
