i've to meet a deadline but by next week i can start working on this, deadline for this remix?? 15 days or so from today is enough for me i believe

Posted by Dj_Kile on Mar-02-2011 18:54:

dude , the stuff you supplied can lead to whole different tune,
think about supplying the midi for the bass of the lead atleast to have some kind of glue between the remixes and the original

Posted by sonicboom on Mar-02-2011 19:50:

yo could you provide a midi for "Breakleed 2.wav"??

kthxbye

so heres another render. need some feedback on the soundquality, i believe its distorting but im not sure it matter.
edit: fuck that version.

Mate it won't download here today. Soundcloud is way easier if you can.

UPDATE > A very big label has come in last night that want the track but have asked if we can use the main break lead in the drop for them - so I am trying to re - work the drop to include part of the big break synth, now as we would like to get on this particular label.

Remember guys, the label has final sayso on remixes but we will gladly put forward any high quality remixes we get.

MIDI > Fuck - I'm such a noob - I would not have a clue how to export midi - presumably it's a simple' export midi' tab out of the cubase5 export area.

Thing is, I probably do not have the midi for the break as the main snarly synth work was all converted to audio and I have a habit of then getting rid of midi as I hate clutter with a passion. Perhaps in future I'll keep midi parts.

NOOB QUESTION > you'll piss yourself with this one;

What is meant by 'The Drop?

Does it mean the final 'chorus' after my last break here, or would it also refer to the 'chorus' after the first smaller break?

Posted by Rodri Santos on Mar-03-2011 12:18:

So, are you going to provide midis or not?

Posted by Raphie on Mar-03-2011 12:59:

seems there are no more midis
though you can check your .BAK files....... they ARE there and probably with enough revisions to find a version with the midi before u deleted them

It sounds very good to my ears, and a good foundation to build upon.

I don't want to step on your toes but seeing as you put it up, I had the following instinctive thoughts when listening;

To take it up the quality ladder, I can envisage for example some snares being verbless, some with a telephone filter, lots mof chopping and stutters and reverses. Same with all components in fact.

With the lead synth (which is my Leipzig analogue in case you wondered), similar now and again clever chopping and rapiid stutters etc could suit the vibe you have going on.

Again, this is not advice or anything, but just my random off the cuff thoughts which hit me as a result of the vibe you have going.

Nice

^--I love advice like this

i guess ill have to export from reason to ableton and then from ableton to logic then, for additional analog. good advice, reason just dont have enough analog.

not really the spot but definitely the best work i've heard from you. if you just made the kick and snare/clap a little more present and salient, it would be something i would pay for. so close. great job.

Cheers man - the label have asked for the break synth work to carry on in to the drop, so we're having to re - work the track - I'll check the clap / snare too - what sorta snare / clap did you have in mind?

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Mar-04-2011 14:35:

the prblem is not so much the elements themselves but how they are mixed. they sound so sqashedc if you want to compress these types of things in such a manner, use parallel compression so your kick and snare come thru. also side chain you material so the kick and are have room to thump

Posted by Raphie on Mar-04-2011 16:10:

If you post me the stems i'll mix them for ya.

Posted by Raphie on Mar-05-2011 13:06:

Ok, here we go, had a go with some of the samples and think i got a sort ofa groove going on, not really a track yet, but gives an impression of the elelements
