Timestretching is a different thing though - some are better than others. Live is the best at most timestretching functions especially when you're pushing it to extremes, apart from with PTHD Elastic time function, which if used properly sounds better than anything else out there. Live however does shit to things at normal bpm's (I think sample/grid based quantisation) and personally I think it sounds slightly different. A null test would prove it (anyone?).

I will say this though - PTHD converters, while clean, are a bit lifeless to say the least. I kind of like it in a way for recording as you just then focus on great signal chain to the converters (mics and pres).
