lee was amazing as usual and it was super nice to meet him...nicest guy ever and a good sense of humor hehe we definitely got weird last night..and then some!

All that Stereo is missing is an espresso machine, and to sell some Clif bars.

Fun night out. Not my favorite Lee set (I prefer his daytime sets over his afterhours sound) but he dropped some rumblers that really caught the crowd. Very nice warm-up set from B-ran eased the crowd into the groove. Much more of a crowd than I was expecting for a Friday. Apparently there is hope that he'll be back at Piknic this year.

Great meeting you Adam and Taface

I think I pretty much met every single TA who was out last night....there was definitely a big group of us there! Really friendly atmosphere all around and the DJs rocked! Made for a great night all around.

Got there around 3:30 and Lee started around 4. He started pumping out some sick-assed track around 6:30-7:00 and didn't stop until I left around 9:00.

I love Lee Burridge and hope to see him again soon

+100000... especially the clif bars.. they need to do something about that! + the fact we can't get out and back in again.

I made the suggestion to the gay bartender with the moustache a few months ago about energy bars, and he told me they sell them and he went to the bar and grabbed a bunch from a random looking box, but all he had left was nutrigrain bars. Seems like they went to IGA or something and bought a few boxes of random bars, no officially sponsored stuff or anything though.

Dennis Ferrer on saturday night was really awesome. Classic NY house sounds, he played 'Spastik' and everyone lost their shit, was great.. he also played 'Rock the Casbah', fun track. He opened up for TMB, finished up around 6. His set was much more dynamic then TMB's, I love it when DJs fade out a track and start over with a completely new sound and tempo.

Fuck, no good looking women at all saturday night. I like the bookings on friday better, there's always much more good looking women on friday, but the overall attitude sucks on fridays. Awesome vibe saturday nights.

wow, i pretty much disagree with most of what you said about saturday, lol.

i actually thought ferrer was terrible. some of the tracks he played were good (some were downright awful), but his set had almost no direction. i had no idea what he was trying to do. it was all over the place. and the rock the casbah song pretty much stopped me dead in my tracks. i looked around and it seemed like most of the club wasn't down either.

TMB on the other hand... wow. these guys are fucking good. they really know what they're doing. great set, great flow, nice subtleties, great drops, quality tracks.

and i saw a bunch of hotties that night.

back to the friday night. i didn't go, but inquired about your set matt, and i heard you were solid, so good job on that!

Not all the time, but every once in a while the effect it has on the crowd works so well. Shows confidence, guts. Ferrer did it after playing a banging techno track and faded it out and just started a cued up classic 90s-sounding house track, and it just worked so well.. no one in the crowd was like "WTF where's the music?"

Ferrer got the crowd into it much more then TMB ever did, I've never seen so many hands in the air at Stereo. I liked his song selection, I dunno.. it seemed like as soon as I was fed up of a sound, Ferrer switched it up and kept it interesting. Maybe it's cuz I was with a bunch of women and I was feeding off of their energy, loved his set. I love the fact that he played Rock the Casbah, shows guts. Not that I'd ever play it, I don't have it on my computer or anything but it was good clean fun.

I like the TMB sound, but it was too much boom boom. Second time I see them and I find their sets don't evolve much at all, I found they were at their best from 9am onward. Nice percussive techy house with deep basslines, I was getting bored before that.. left at 10am, but was loving it.

If you thought the girls were hot on saturday, go see Carlo Lio next time he spins at Stereo you'll shit yourself. It was unbelievable.

Anyways, sorry to highjack the thread.

Posted by Adam420 on Apr-05-2011 21:24:
