Anyways I've seen articles with Tiesto saying: He's done with trance, How it was all starting to sound the same, and that house music fuels his energy now. He kept the supersaw though. Every single artist that makes money does photoshoots. PVD's aren't nearly as douchey as a lot of them. I'm not saying he's the best DJ (I think he's sort of phoning it in these days), but it's not like he's the only guy who has himself on an album cover.

Like the "electronic music" tag is a token nod towards being open minded, but actually he has strict ideas of what you're allowed to call trance and what's allowed to be electronic music. It's also strikingly ignorant to separate hip-hop from electronic music. Really, the issue here is that PVD is implying he's all about the music and is very open minded, but he's actually not talking about the music at all - he wants to segregate and compartmentalise music based on the culture that surrounds it. That's your hypocrisy right there.

And lest we forget, his music is utter shit these days and he's as guilty of "cheesy pop overkill" as anyone else.

The guy is a professional artist. Those pictures are artwork for his album (which is a piece of artwork). I wouldn't read into much more than that.
