Speaking of eats -
Febo for croquettes which reminds me of Automat days (on Damrak next to McD's)
Dutch Aged Cheese (traditional dutch cheese sandwich)
Barney's Breakfast Bar for Scrambled Eggs Intense
Looza's is a popular juice drink
Tibet - tibetan restaurant
How Ke or Hop Ke - Chinese food
Wagamama - Max Euweplein (close to Vondel Park by Hard Rock Cafe)
Frites - French Fries with Mayo - On Damrak by Grasshopper Coffeeshop

To bad you decided to come over this weekend. At the end of april with Queensday, Amsterdam is th best place to be in Europe. it is is a big event with 1 million people and there is a wide variaty of music during the day. from pop to techno and drum and bass.

One of my ex-gf's went to school in Amsterdam and always talked that up. Not to worry, I'll be sure to come back another year

I thought you just had bad taste in music, but now I realise you have bad taste in everything.

Barney's Coffee Shop for Cannibus Cup Winners, across the street is Barney's breakfast bar - great delicious breakfast (scrambled eggs intense recommended), across the street from Barney's is a really nice dutch bakery for some croissant goods. Baba's is another coffee shop which is pretty touristy.

I also went to Barneys Breakfast bar and it was pretty funny since we had plans to go to some tour but we ended up spending close to an hour and change in there and missed out tour. When we thought back about it we should not have been surprised since everyone there was baked and the service was pretty lax and slow lol. It was a good time and they have bongs on the table for your use- ahhhh such good times- though I dont remember most of it.

it's the typical museum of Amsterdam , everyone has photos there and you've a good time with your friends there. When you've them.

furthest from 'typical museum of Amsterdam' since the one in Times Square sucks, Baker Street sucks, etc etc.

Because it's in Dam Square / City Centre doesn't mean it's dutch heritage, it's the epitome of tourist trap

Also want to add the real life Dutch Masters painting is gorgeous, go see it in the Rijks Museum and yes I'm talking about the recreation of the painting on the dutch masters cigar box lol

No, it's an over-priced, gimmicky waste of time which can be experienced at any tourist city in the developed world. Apart from that, it's not fun or interesting at all. Hey, let's get our pictures taken with wax models of celebrities so that it almost looks like we actually met them! Celebrity worship is lame enough in itself. At least worship the real thing, rather than a giant candle effigy.

And if the whole weekend ends up being one big disappointment, you can always set yourself on fire.
