Probably doesn't matter. What matters is figuring out how to get your mixes to translate on other systems. To do that you have to just get used to the sonic character of the headphones, and reference out all the time. Same process no matter what headphones you use.

Hello there,

I have not used the AKG 240 mk2 for very long time, most artist requested the AKG 271 mk2 (closed) instead. originally made for drummer the 271 provide cleaner bass frequency and better isolation for recording and seems to nicely translate electronic music.

Therefore, those are not the most requested by my customers.

for studio work;
- Beyer DT770 pro 250
- Sennheiser HD 280 PRO (or HD380pro)
- Audio-technica ATH-M50

for DJ mix;
- Sony 7520
- Shure 440 (some requested the 840 recently)
- Sennheiser hd25
- Pioneer

personally use HD380pro with modified velvet earpads and beyer 770 for mastering.

But this is not a reference, you are the master and your ears are not mine...
