The formentera group in Edmonton announced that they will be bringing: John O'Callaghan, Ummet Ozcan, and Andy Moor early this year, that's a couple off your list!

They've been around for a year or two. Have had some really good shows, my favs being one with just DJ Eco and the other with Lange & Emma Hewitt.

Got two shows coming up at Empire:
February 3 - Lange, Norin & Rad
March 9 - Myon & Shane54, Ben Gold

lol FINALLY a response... it's pretty slow around this part of the forum, isn't it? Yeah that would be awesome, but my friend and i both have kids, and our husbands would only commit to watching them for the one night. Thanks for the heads up though. What's the big 4 like?

Unfortunately the Big 4 seems to have sound quality issues.

That sucks.. but i can't say i'm all that surprised.

Opinions about that elements festival in April now that lineup is out?

I think they did a good job spanning the genres and you really can't beat the price.

Stoked for PVD in April.

I have two tickets to Elements if anyone is looking to buy.

PvD was good show until they pulled him off at like 210 and didnt let him finish off his set then proceeded to kick everyone out asap.

I was wondering how the show went! Was thinking of making the drive down but figured it would be a carbon copy of his Miami gig. Did he at least get to finish his set and it was the encore portion that got cut off? 2:10 is a bit early to kick everyone out, they should've allowed till 2:30. Calgary is a bit messed up in terms of bar/club hours of operation

No dude, they cut him off before he could finish his actual set, nevermind encore.
It was messed up because the whole set was awesome with big build ups then huge banging tracks, lots of trance, then all the sudden security just told him to stop and I�m pretty sure he even asked if he could at least bring it down and finish with one track but they said no. So it was a real banging track then just silence pretty much and everyone still ready to dance.
Was nice to meet him but christ let the man finish off his set, especially at the price they charged!! $50 for roughly ~1:45.

Damn, that's a bummer...I'd be a bit pissed off, especially if I made the drive!

Isn't it a rule that the promoter or someone at the club is suppose to let the DJ know a two track notice or at least last track??? Someone really screwed up...

Nice to see another, tech-house/deep house/techno junkie in Calgary. Add to that list Danny Howells, Steve Lawler, Danny Tenaglia, Dubfire, Art Department, Maceo Plex and many more Toronto/Montreal regulars.

Calgarians are unfortunately not exposed to this scene. The closest place I can think of is Habitat.

Very doubtful it will happen. No promoters are brave enough to book any of them, public are mostly just into commercial stuff and the "scene" there just overall sucks.
