you fucking what?

i've listened to this a few times and is great to chill at home but i think only the last half an hour could work on a club, he has more banging stuff in his discography and he was a bit full on himself, introducing more tech trance producers from the period would have made the set a lot better

Posted by yourma2000 on Jun-06-2011 20:52:

Yeah it's a cool set, glad he's back aswell, he said in an interview that he was away for a while setting up his label, I originally thought he just retired/gave up

All these comments and no one went!!??
Was another top reunion, Sasha was on in Liverpool the same night so stiff competition but crowd was great. Olivers set went down a treat, best set of the night. He remastered everything that he played on the night and lot of other stuff too before the gig and played on traktor (wavs)

Loads of clips on youtube but here's a couple:

I'll put my set up on soundcloud in next few days.

certainly looks wicked, visuals are top notch, the music he played is well produced isn't a surprise that it sounds so nice in a club, it looks danceable here while on the headphones is chilling, interesting.

Talking out of your arse there mate. Like everywhere there's plenty of shit clubs playing foul commercial dance music but its never lacked good quality nights or knowledgable audiences, including techno. Also Lieb played techno in 2001 at Cream when everyone was expecting trance and they loved it.

I was talking about todays crowd, back in 2001 techno was acceptable and enjoyable but I haven't heard it around Liverpool in years, to be fair though I haven't been looking

That's why you said:

Because that's totally talking about today's crowd

Posted by samuellamont on Jun-06-2011 21:23:

Mumu, Circus and one or two others regularly book techno DJ's. The sound is less percussive perhaps than back in the day but still a strong scene mate.

Posted by Lews on Jun-06-2011 21:26:

Sam, do you have more recorded sets for us?

Posted by yourma2000 on Jun-06-2011 21:37:

I think what I was trying to say was that techno wasn't the genre of choice back then but if it was played then there would be a "why not?" attitude

Unfortunately I also couldn't make it, due to illness.

My other friends still attended and said they had an amazing night, making particular mentions to the sets by Sam and Seb.

I hear they're having another reunion night in a couple of months, hopefully I'll be able to make that one.

He played on traktor but didn't record it unfortunately. Was a strange set really cos he kept going from house/prog to trance and back again so didnt flow that well and he didn't change the tempo. Obviously great to hear Fiji again at Cream and a few other former favourites but hoped he would play more tracks that became his rather than the stuff that was big for everyone at the time.

Lieb's new stuff sounds so bad now. Another great producer on the tech house path... Sad...
