I used to love track days on the bike, and although I found Cayuga fun it was always a bit tight for me. Can't imagine doing that track in a car!

Posted by CODE on Jul-16-2011 11:47:

I went lapping 2 days ago at TMP.

3 Vipers on the Track a 911 and a wrx and me.

The 911 almost took out the wall. Lots of people push it
a little too hard to make a good run at the straight.

I think they should run that track backwards..like they do when
they drift. Its funny how the most dangerous wall is also the only
spectator wall...lol and there is really no safegard.

Even at cscs stupid people were dropping food and drinks on the track

anywyasy lots of fun...its still a ghetto tight track.
the vipers didnt like me at all.

My buddy had 1 of those ludes, their long wheel base allows them to out corner an s2000 on the track. Also drop in an h22 with a turbo and that cars a beast...

I'm more of a german car person tho TT yeah!

Shooter times? Woodbine 16th... If those came before Kennedy Commons, I m sure they are the reason car meets are ban...

A long time ago, about 15 years and even in the 70s I've heard. There was Milley's, that was the spot to meet in the east end. The two lots barely allowed 150+ cars, everyone met up there and lapped around STC + 401.

When I went, many times we dragged at Tapscott, Midwest and etc, indeed there was undercover posing as tuner and they were equipped some nice imports. People use to race for pink slips and tons of cash.

This one time, everyone started to head to one of the spots. My buddy went a different route to scout the area, all you can see is 100s of cars trying to make a right and suddenly we almost crash head on with a cop car. He on the wrong side of the road, the road was bending to the right and we had a sound system blasting ... so we didn't hear is siren. I was a little freaked out after that sceneario.

At Tapscott, there's a railway crossing across the road. This one time, after the train pasted and the warning baryers were lifted ... almost 30 cruisers came racing at us and everyone scrambled like a scene of the Fast and the Furious.

Miley's died soon after the cops got their helicopters, getting chased by them is not fun at all.

Kennedy Commons was ok for awhile, but things got out of hand lately. Their meets had almost ever car club in the GTA gathering each Wed night.

So my question is. Did the cops now effectively shut down
the clubs and the runs...or is there still some place to hang
with a car club and maybe run...lol

But ya...since that helicopter came in I bailed from that area.

I think i was one of the first victims in my european Ford escort cossy.

4) Improper exhaust
5) Oil leak ( yes i got a ticket for leaking oil lol)
6) Improper headlights...(everyone had those blue bulbs)

Wow that's brutal what you got ... how much was the cost of all 8 tickets?

From what I've heard ....

JDM Rides meet up @ Walmart (Steels and Markham) was ok last thursday.

Kennedy Commons had a few cars ticketed and towed out last wed.

haha team sls seriously ruined their name. if you check their website they claimed that day as their "track day" which was organized by c7 and they were jus there.

they obviously messed with the wrong guy (camera car) which they claimed that hit the sls s2k.

camera car was uncle raymond, from gilman auto. Ive knew him since i was little and he is a family friend of my family. and hes been tracking over 15+ years and is a very reputable driver that owns a reputable shop!

anyways i think i will be at CSCS round 3 this sunday if anyone is comming out!

i missed out the second event at the new venue (mosport) but i was there for the first one, saw the subaru flip in person!!

The world’s most astonishing illegal street race

Illegal street racing is a dangerous hobby that puts participants, spectators and innocent passers-by at risk. Which is what makes Sweden's Stockholm Open — held since 1982, run on public streets with thousands of spectators — all the more astonishing.

Where most such races are little more than "Fast and the Furious" wannabees with big blocks and small brains, the Stockholm Open is a well-organized annual event, despite protestations from police. With no rules on what vehicles can be entered other than "run what you brng," contenders generally need to have at least enough speed to polish a quarter-mile in roughly 9 seconds and most sports race slicks and more than 1,000 hp. Previous winners have snapped off runs of 7.96 seconds, facing off against more than 50 vehicles.

As in years past, fans at this year's event were scattered around 15 sites in Stockholm to help confuse authorities about the location of the actual races. The 32-car field was described by organizers as the "baddest and hardest starting field in many years," with the cup won by a blown Camaro in the pre-dawn finale, facing off against another Camaro. The winner received this massive trophy and bragging rights until next year's run.

(If we were doing this during our east end meets, it's a legit reason for the cops to hassle us)

"Hey Raymond,
I just want to extend my sincere apology for blaming you for my accident at Cayuga. The spin out was completely my own fault. I saw a dent on my rear bumper and like an ass, because you were the car behind me, I assumed that you struck my car. My behavior towards you and your crew was completely unacceptable and disrespectful. I respect your driving skills and I am truly sorry for being a jerk.
I hope we can put this event behind us and continue to share our passion for the track.
Sincerely,
John"

nice apology... its not like he can continue blaming the guy - if there's video evidence (as you guys say, I cant see the vids) then he'll not only look like a dick, but he gon looooose!

LINK

On the topic of track days, two weeks ago I went to the Nurburgring for an afternoon of lapping.

I rented a Renaultsport Clio Cup and did 7 laps on the day.

It was massive fun and sure to be an annual thing for me. Last year I did two laps in a Suzuki Swift Sport which got me hooked. The Clio sealed the deal.

Posted by E2EK1EL on Sep-02-2011 02:28:

I'm not into tracking, but that's fucking rad you've been on both of these tracks.
