DJ Ameaça Moral Lays de Smackdown sounds catchy. It even rhymes (well, sort of).

American weddings fucking suck. I haven't been to one yet where I haven't heard the electric side, mambo #5, and fucking... what's that one... oh the fucking SHOUT.

Here's a song that shows how shitty american weddings are. I do NOT want my wedding to be like this. Here in afghanistan weddings last for DAYS (And are fucking AWESOME)

Plus lots of AK-47 casings. (?)

I would get a fog machine, strobe light, cop lights, and introduce the family to this like they were the Chicago Bulls.

Is there such a thing as a good or bad wedding DJ? At every wedding I've ever been to, the formula is exactly the same. You play Abba, you play a slow one for the bride and groom to dance to, you chat incomprehensible inanities through a terrible microphone. That's it.

You forgot the "We've got a white Ford Fiesta with its headlights on outside" interjections.

The funny thing is how much they get paid to do it. They clean up, weddings are a goldmine.

...and in the same vein, New Year's Eve parties. My mother's village has a NYE party each year, the DJs get 2000 for about 4hrs of spinning, plus of course set-up and clear-down.

Wedding djs are going around making 800$ for 5 hours of shit. most of them have some old worthless turntables, and two rusty 15" speakers. Every once in a while they'll try to be comedians, and suck. They are too stupid to remmber that your paying for their music and not his fking shit personality. Dont get a DJ, plz get a band. Ppl will have more fun requesting their fav songs to a band than the 90% talentless DJs around. Im not saying djs are bad. Im saying the one's that prey on weddings because of the potential profit are BAD. If they ask 800, check how much their equip is worth. If they dont splurge on expensive pro gear. They don't have enough of an interest to do the job right. It means they don't spin on their own for fun which would make them experienced, it means they invested in some shitty turntables, that sit around their 500 a month apartment and they sit around waiting to con people. Those types are just your typical blue collars who saw an oppurtunity because baggage hanging is just not enough these days. They most certainly dont give two fux about you having a good time at your wedding, or music in general, they pretty much just follow a standard procedure, and take some requests.

You dont wanna support oppurtunists do you? Feeding on the classic old school wedding Dj reputation. People realized how important djs were back in the day to events, and they got acknowledged and so the price went up, but the modern wedding dj is just a con man. But the quality is shit.

It's more reasonable to try and find a dj on this site though, than the yellowpages. Rofl.

I know a splendid wedding DJ named LORD OF BASS. Lovely chap.

ok so lets give an outrageouss statistic far from reality. At best 1 in 4 are good, So What are the chances the one you land upon will be good?

Its up to you if u wanna pay 500 for a few hours for someone to play abba and celine dion off of a limewire playlist. The good news is. If they played copyrighted music for your event, and DO NOT have a music liscence which is required for a music specialty like djs. You can sue them for what they charged you, if they are part of a large business, and have been making a living off of copyrighted acts and without a license, well than you can win big time.

Some lawyers have had private parties with dj's they knew that did not posess a license, just so they could get experience and practise in court. Evil. But. Hey. It's a dog eat dog world.

You need a license to make a living off of copyrighted labels.

Something to consider, if your wedding dj overcharged you, didnt deliver, and now you feel like being a real prick.

Save your hot blooded comments, im just being honest.

Dude, you're asking an international community to recommend dime a dozen wedding DJs. You don't even give your location. You'd be better off checking the yellow pages.

And don't go telling me to stay out of the thread ya fuckin' n00b. You posted a thread on a public message board; that's inviting anyone who has access to the internet to voice their opinion... in this case I decided to express what a moron I believe you to be, which seems to be a wholey justifiable conclusion on my part. If you can't take mockery then I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place... this isn't the "Rainbow Unicorn PLUR Circle Jerk Society."
