who's your playoff tips mate ?

Personally I can't see past Wigan, I dunno why, saw them play ipswich off the park a month or so back and they were awesome that day, if they play that way more consistently then they might catch wba scum

Posted by mentalbarter on Mar-26-2004 13:13:

Dunno about Wigan mate
Of late theyve been stuttering: lost 2 of last 4, drew 1 and won 1
Sunderland are putting in a massive charge and with games in hand the 2 in the automatic places up top ought to be getting scared
Also the outcome of the fa cup semi-final might influence this playoff race considerably
At the moment tho everyone is still beating everyone so its pretty difficult to call, interesting tho
Sheff Utd to lose in the playoffs definitley tho
Alas Palace seem out of the equation, but i'll be damned if Millwall are gonna go up

Chelsea who? Monaco?

There was no more important match last night than the riveting palace rotherham encounter.
You will of course be delighted to discover that the mighty palace were victorious by a margin of 2-1. A score which was not reflective of our dominance, but points are points, and one cant complain.

Posted by mentalbarter on Apr-12-2004 18:21:

awesome easter break for the palace
our defence has become mean as fuck

Posted by mentalbarter on Apr-18-2004 09:25:

alas i think our playoff hopes were destroyed by a lucky deflection
1-1 with wigan

gay gay gay gay

2nd half better be good

Posted by mentalbarter on Jul-15-2004 09:56:

haha

as many of u will know and even more of u will be delighted to find out, the title of this thread was indeed prophetic, and palace have been promoted
via an outstanding playoff campaign, the eagles have reached the zenith of english football league

interestingly it doesnt automatically mean 6 points for all your teams and nor does it mean we will get the lowest points total ever

in fact the title of this thread needs now to be "crystal palace for champions league"
what with our wealth of huge household name signings who can stop us now

bring it on

the season bodes well for chrystal palace

From todays Sun.

PREMIERSHIP new boys Crystal Palace scored a spectacular own-goal spelling their name WRONGLY on new team shirts.

Botched batches of 39.99 adult red and blue striped replica tops show the name as CHRYSTAL Palace.

Junior shirts, the clubs white and blue away kit and the grey goalie tops also carry the error.

Supporter Peter Munday, 68, added: Youd have thought that the one thing they would get right would be the clubs name.

Another fan was horrified when he spotted the error as he bought kit for his sons from the club shop.

He said outside Palaces Selhurst Park stadium in South London: Ive feared that we would be the Premiership whipping boys since we went up.

But I never thought wed be a laughing stock BEFORE the season started. I hope this isnt an omen things are going to go wrong.

Palace are nicknamed the Eagles and the mis-spelling is on a small club crest of a bird clutching a football on top of the Crystal Palace exhibition hall.

The crest is at the bottom of the shirts. But on the main badge on the left breast and on a badge alongside the crest the name is spelt correctly.

The shirts were made in Romania for Italian sports giant Diadora who are addressing the problem.

But the tops were still on sale in the club shop yesterday. Palace were promoted after beating West Ham 1-0 in last seasons Division One play-off final.

This would make me want to buy the kit more, It'l probs be a collectors item at some point in time.

Oh yeah and hell of a goal from Popovic today! Just about beats the pen that dodgy keeper gave away a few weeks back

Crystal Palace's keeper is a bundle of laughs, I hope they avoid relegation so I can see more of this guy in action
