I believe that most every person alive is 'Good' in that they want what's best for them at all times, and the range of devices they will use to achieve this is both innumerable and unpredictably at odds with my own methods and aims.

So in conclusion, niggers.

That being said, I trust Strangers just fine. I mean, I sat on my hand for like 3 minutes straight; I know where it's been.

people are inherently bad. We're trained to be good, but we're trained mostly by incompetents and idiots, which means most people have their bad seeping out through the cracks in the layering of good...

Its naive to think people are good; take a look around. There are some good people, but they're the exception. Further, they're an extremely pleasent exception if you realise that 'good' isn't the default setting of all people. You treat good people much better if you realise they aren't made to be that way

Story someone told me..

I heard a young man in Penn Station today telling his mom on the phone that he left his wallet in a cab and that he had no way of getting home. Another woman heard this convo and gave the kid $20. The kid gets her address to mail her a check and the 2 part ways. I am told later by another man that this kid is a scam and he has heard him do this several times before. Be careful of who u give ur $$ and information to!

The way I look at it is the human brain can think of many scenerio's of trusting someone else on any level. It will be the person recipricating choice to do right or wrong. They were not stuck with one option!

Why the hell would I want to trust a stranger? Who knows they might want to harvest my organs. Plus I don't even trust people close to me (i.e friends or family).

What are the things you don't trust about them?

Posted by FuzzQi on Jul-28-2011 03:35:

I'm prepared to sacrifice a few things to find out if someone is really trustworthy

Posted by meriter on Jul-28-2011 03:36:

you can see it in their eyes immediately.. no one is a stranger if you trust your instincts

If you haven't been stuck behind your computer screen all of your life chances are you've developed the 6th sense to tell who's shady and who's not. It comes with growing up, having experiences and acquiring the wisdom to detect these sorts of things.

I catch vibes off of people instantly, and haven't been fucked over since I was a dumb, naive teenager.

If you have to think twice, keep it moving.

I've noticed that a lot of people around the college environment love to have quantity over quality. Suit yourself, but this almost always tends to breed a circus of backstabbing clowns. Stupid kids.

Oh, and if you surround yourself with drugs and alcohol, expect it to happen to you ever more often.

Maybe the young TAs could use the advice?

Ah, who am I kidding. We all learn better from experience anyways.

It's just as naive to think people are inherently 'bad'. Where does your standard come from? The same people you suppose to be inherently flawed? Yeah? Yeah.

People are people. Anyone who tries to simplify the matter are lying to you because they have lied to themselves first.

So I hate public bathrooms because there is poo and piss all over the place.

I know a person who just told me that someone accidentally splashed pee on their foot. I laughed at said person and felt sorry for them.

So people are inherently bad.

The story about the apartment is pretty fucked up though

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Jul-28-2011 05:20:

She really deserved it. Better that she learns now not to trust people utterly and wholly with her worldly possessions, rather than perhaps trusting them with her life someday.

Better for her, I mean. Not for the rest of us.

standard comes from experience, contrary to what was learned (that people are good). I wasn't saying we remain indoctrinated (otherwise people would remain good). Hence my beautiful imagery of a cracking layer through which you can peer through, and be peered at through...

I was merely offering an alternative to the people saying people are good, which is laughable. Fighting fire with fire and whatnot

alsooooo: What I was really saying was if you assume people are bad you're more likely to be pleasantly suprised, than if you assume they're good, which will lead to perpetual dissapointment.
