You can if you use private servers. It's just finding them thats hard. I remember Wolfenstein was just like this but there were a couple of really good sites with open source servers, you could play with any version.

I love this game. Its been a long time since a multiplayer game has given me the sheer joy that this game has. I about died when both me and a teammate squashed an axis at the same time between our 2 jeeps (blowing them up in the process ) This game really is a lot of fun

I like the game, but there are many bugs in it. Like if I shoot at the enemy with my sniper-rifle (prone) I can't hit him. That sucked. But the possibilities are great... I enjoy using the ships at most. Great game but... need patch :/
