When Acanac gets 50-100 Mbps with unlimited bandwidth we can talk. They have unlimited for 10-15 Mbps

I have Videotron Ultimate Speed 30 Cable with 120 GB up/down per month.

Posted by malek on Aug-17-2011 16:05:

lol from work, the download is very weird, it goes up to 85mbps, but irregular (huge building, lots of people must be watching stuff at lunch time)

you're on 5Mbps so why are you even talking? plus most of these guys posting around 50Mb are at work, or paying retardedly high prices for the connections.

My download is on-par with most of you, but look at that ridiculous ping... Holy fuck.

$67/month but we also have 3 full-time network users in the house all using a different computer.

I fucking love it though. I download 350 MB episodes in 3-4 minutes and 1.2 GB movies in under 30.

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Aug-17-2011 18:51:

for 22$ less i have the same amount of GB with a speed that is good enough. We barely download enough to make it important anyway. I can't wait to ditch Videotron though, just because they are cocks that you have to scrutinize every damn statement that they send to your house. So many times they charge you for bullshit, as if to say, "Let's see if they will notice.". Such a hassle to call those idiots.

Posted by Adam420 on Aug-17-2011 19:01:

Agreed, but getting Ultimate 30 solved all of those problems, and we have basic cable and telephone with them too. And again, we're 3, pretty heavy users so it makes sense for us.

Telus Optik with IPTV (costs me $30 + tax, analog phone line extra $15, first year intro deal). Generally works great and better than I expected, very few problems, but I know of others that get excessive TV freezes. Up to 10 mbit/sec download on torrents.

down up ping TV PVR
13.87 .80 43 PVR off
14.08 .80 41 1 SD
14.43 .80 40 1 HD
09.55 .80 41 2 HD
07.49 .80 40 2 HD, 1 SD

Acanac:

Unlimited.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Aug-18-2011 05:25:

I'm pissed that some of you are getting 20+ on Acanac. I'm assuming you signed up for the 15Mb package, like me but I've never seen it get to 20. Still...it's nice to see that we're all consistently getting higher than advertised speeds. How often do you see THAT?!

Posted by CAKE on Aug-18-2011 14:07:

I have no idea how you people live with less then 20mbps internet.

Things like email, facebook and youtube really do not require it.

Think about, most of the world is using 5Mbps or less, so that is what website builders use as a benchmark.

In most cases it really does not matter. It is only when you are torrenting something, streaming a movie, and uploading pictures when you feel the squeeze.

everything I use avgs around 6mps down ....

Back home I think paid 70$ a month for rogers high speed and we were around 10 - 15. Also I don't have a downloading limit here, while back home its was 95gigs...with 3$ every gig after.
