Hence my first post!
I spoke to a lady at the supermarket, during the January floods here - Not even a cyclone. She lives near us, but right up the hill. She was freaking out that the river would rise so high that their house would be swept away. She's roughly 40 meters above the river height.
if anything falls on my car, i'm punching the hurricane in its cunt

Look at the charts on the right hand side.
a Cat 2 here in the Atlantic with gusts of 110 mph (177km/hr) is equal to your Cat 3 over there.

Btw, to anyone confused, the song is called Come on Eileen, not Irene, you fuckwits.

Looks like you have some stool in your blood
I'm in Charlotte about 4-5 hours from the coast and it's nice and sunny here. Looks like a lot of rain and wind up the U.S. coast, some storm surge action, but nothing major compared to real disasters. I guess it hit land as a Cat 1? Fucking weak. I had my bedroom windows blown out twice in 2005 when we had 4 hurricanes cut through Florida.
lol @ OP's post about the panic... so true. That stupid herd mentality takes over and people start freaking out, clearing the grocery store shelves.

i went out and bought 3 things. beer.2 cans of red bull.and some hamburger buns.
i paid 3 dollars for the buns at cvs.it was the last pack.no one fought me for it.and i didnt wait an hour in line.in fact i waited in no line.across the street at the grocery store, the parking lot of full.
inside i can only imagine what it looked like. but in my mind i think its probably something like the blues brothers scene when they drove through the mall.
now im going to sit here and crack open beers and in a couple of hours, storm or no storm,im cooking hamburgers on the grill
