This is true when a promoter announces his lineups months in advance!!

I always thought it was a bad idea for Aria to announce their lineups couple of months or even more ahead of time!

I mean come on, you have to keep people excited, but it's hard to keep it at a "sellable" level for so long.

Posted by HappyDude72 on Sep-15-2011 05:08:

@ Spin: You're right. Rauhofer is booked for Oct 11th

Posted by otown Matt on Sep-15-2011 12:48:

do you mean Oct 10th ..as in Recovery Party? cuz Oct 11th is a Tuesday this year! lol

Posted by Ammar.Hasan on Sep-15-2011 17:35:

Thats last years, October lineup.

Posted by HappyDude72 on Sep-16-2011 02:20:

@ Ammar: Spin meant that if you look at last year's october lineup you can probably guess this year's, not that it was this years.

@ Otown: since Stereo opens at 1AM my date is correct unlike some of ((()))s event listings on facebook however you are correct in that it is "the recovery night" usually held by Calderone. Also whether it is the official "recovery party" it all depends on the BBCM since they have been holding many of their events at Circus.

Posted by Big Boss on Sep-17-2011 18:14:

I miss the branded/theme nights. Sure Victor still does EVOLVE and Tenaglia does BE YOURSELF, but I remember the Full Body Workout w/Hector Romero, Stereo Sound w/Vibe and Grondin, Climaxxx with Torrence, La Vie In Stereo, etc...

Posted by mtl_au on Sep-18-2011 12:03:

I got really scared when I read about Junior Vazquez and recovery for stereo on October 10th. I first thought you meant it was for this year booking.
Ok, hoping to be someone who can bring a good vibe that night.

as already mentionned, if the BBCM doesn't move the Recovery Party to Circus, your DJ will be Peter Rauhofer

Posted by mtl_au on Sep-18-2011 22:22:

I used to love him few years ago when he was playing dark beats but nowadays he plays mainstream happy music.

I remember his set at Bal en Blanc of 2006 in the house room being absolute destruction.

Funny you mention! I ran into Sophie Gagnon the girl who decorates the clubs in town and I told her the exact same thing! I will post some old pictures of her work at stereo later !!

Speaking of artistic content...does stereo still have dancers and other artists like it used to last year??

No I believe they stopped it, or I've been missing the dancers for a year now ..

Posted by corjay9 on Sep-19-2011 03:04:

the last time I saw dancers was Steve Lawler in spring of 2010.

there were dancers there that night... on a Friday?

They had dancers out for DJ Vibe last November

Posted by FunKenLouis on Sep-20-2011 14:42:

I think the last time was at D-Formation at F1 weekend

That kind of entertainment is fun ... but VERY pricey

If the production cost is around 2500 $ for exemple, you need almost 100 people to pay just for dancers

When your capacity is around 800 ... 100 people is just under 13% ... that just ate a big chunk of your door. On top of that theres the dj, the staff, your rent, promotion, etc etc etc

Has to be worth it or get a sick deal for a yearly thing

ya for sure. they don't come cheap.

i wonder how much club dancers get paid...especially the ones in ibiza (they must get ALOT, considering it is the party capital of world, but who knows...) i was so excited to see some solid choreography & all i got was girls who looked anorexic & addicted to meth at space, ibiza...

...the cocoon dancers at amnesia were cool, in sync w/ each other, solid moves, costumes were incredible, etc...but i believe they are chosen by sven's team, not the club's administration.

Posted by Ammar.Hasan on Sep-20-2011 18:38:

We'll make her own professional dancing team!!

Posted by WittyHandle on Sep-20-2011 18:48:

I remember talking with Jay (Morales' tour manager) one night on Halloween, commenting on how nice the club looked. He said "Does it look 14K good?"

Apparently Morales had not required a budget to be submitted before that night. All nights after did.

Still, the club did look amazing.

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Sep-20-2011 19:10:

not really into the bells and whistles...I think it is somewhat of a pointless expense for this type of club, because dancers will not make the gate bigger. it makes no sense to add extra overhead to operations costs if it doesn't help make more $$$. in a booze club it would work better, because guys will spend more at a bar if there are half naked women gyrating.

some good ones at the Guv and Red Lite and Beach Club Ibiza but it's meaningless if the music and/or crowd is lame. I saw a dancer at Stereo one Sat when I was dragged there, I think it was maybe in April for Angel Moraes but the dancer was male and flamboyant

Pacha in NYC had some dancers but Stereo is much better club, even without the dancers.
