I just don't think psytrance has any real connection to "pure trance" anymore. It's much more like a techno or hard dance kind of party, druggy by necessity, relentless and unwavering.
Genre Fighting is like Racism.
Music is Music.
Can't we All just get along?!
BTW Trance is still the Best.

i was 5 when that came out, chipmunk christmas was my favorite album!

Because a lot of psy trance producers and DJs are amateurs and will always be so. I don't know why, but that genre has never been able to have the kind of legitimacy as trance, house and techno. There is just not the kind of professionalism and musical sensibility that you'll find with house and techno and trance. It's like in a way, it's stuck in the 90's, but hasn't gotten any better really.
psy trance is a travesty to electronic music. the fact that the adjective refers to illegal drug users shows that straight edge people like myself are in a class above psy trance fanatics.

I couldn't agree with the above posts any more. Seriously though I need to listen to different music.... what's good nowadays?
