By the way, why would you not share them? Half the people on the boards are always complaining about no one listening to good trance, and its not like it really hurts you. Burning a cd is like half an hour and 15 cents
I wan't a burner.
220 Gigs of HDD space goes fast when you're in the scene.
And I am going on vacation tomorow morning so I will be back in 4 days.

Only two of my friends like trance so I borrow them my CDs with it and they enjoy it.

Spread the word, Spread the word.....blah blah blah.....
If you guys had any idea about the music scene in this country, you'd come to learn that spreading the word around here doesn't really help anything, at all. Some of you guys would like to see the entire nation listening to trance, infact, thats the wish of a lot of people. But you know what? It doesn't happen like that here. The music industry in this country is so corrupt with money, fads, bandwagoning and popularity, that the chances of electronica surviving and being strong to its truth are highly slim.
We've had our share of the "word being spread". Back in 99, we had a local DJ who pretty much brought a lot of the music to the scene. He spun on the cities #1 local mainstream radio on saturday nights. It ofcourse boosted the hell out of "dance", and what not. Well, lets just say I no longer really go to that club, and that DJ doesn't spin their anymore. A DJ still plays on saturday nights, but its almost as if its burnt out. As if its not longer a "new thing".
I don't feel the need anymore to let the world know about my music. Ignorance is bliss, if they don't have it, they don't got it. I've gotten a few of my friends into it, but thats it. 90% of the times, they like it, but thats as far as it goes. To this day I haven't known one person (that I "introduced" the music to), that has shown the amount of love and respect that I have to the music. Thats ok, I understand that. But I don't feel the need to spread the word. If they want to hear it, I'll let them, but thats all I need and should have to do. Give them a decent cd, if they dont like it, then well, they dont like it. No one walked up to me and handed me a cd and said "listen to this". I found it myself. People here have PLENTY of oppurtunities to fall into the music. We have PLENTY of clubs in the states that play our music. Don't think around here everyones eyes are closed and not exposed. They've seen it.
Our entire party scene has gone completely down hill. Its not just legality issues, its the bandwagoners, the wannabes, the druggies, all fuckin it up. How do you think they got there? What do you think influenced them to go to a rave? Last thing I ever want to see here, and I have always stated this, is any form of real electronic on MTV, on TV, or anything else. This shit has survived good and long enough outside these borders, lets keep it that way. I guarantee, this shit ends up on MTV here like most foreigners wish, then well, its pretty much going to go down from there. There's nothing more I can't stand than a poser. Someone "abusing" my music, for their own appearance and what not. Around here, music gets the money sucked out of it, used, abused, then thrown away. Don't forget the level of corruption/temptation the DJ gets, when he's offered a couple million dollars, to do remixes with with a rap artist, etc.
All in all, the music needs respect, and it won't get it here.
Most of my friends listen to the same musik as me, but I tend to get it sometime months before them, so I try to make them CD's as much as I can. I'm always about sharing musik, as long as I know it is going in the right hands. Why waste my time & CD on some bloke who doesn't know what he is listening to???
None of my friends really listen to trance or anything. I haven't tried to get them into it or anything cuz they are stubborn asses.
I'm sure if i had friends that listened to trance or house or progressive, or whatever I love, then we'd share songs and info with eachother.
But I haven't had to worry about that yet. =P.

You people are loser, and will only make sure, that the exposure to trance remains to a minimun.
off course this is all about your personnal preferences, but like, WTF is up with not wanting to share?
ok you're not gonna share with random people, but I mean this year and previous years I have tried my best to expose people to trance in whatever shape or form. I've had people snap back saying it sucked, cause they were into cheese techno compilations ... so what...
I've been able to turn a couple people into it seriously, and for that I say it's worth the effort... this kid who's 14 used to always tell me oakenfold rocks etc, well I shut him up and showed him there was more then oakey
I think the purpose is to share
it's like not wanting to share on the internet ... wtf is up with that ... you got possibilities to share bandwidth , SO DO IT
I don't get it why people open one or two slots on file sharing progs ... and then they are the same people who complain about never being able to find their files
I guess I'm to idealistic thinking everyone should have access to the same data, at the same speed, no matter who and where they are.
I believe internet should be free, and that no barriers should come in between....
and I've thought that since the days I got a 2400 baups modem
ok go ahead flame me for my idealistic point of views, but seriously give me REAL/CONCRETE reasons why you shouldn't share on the internet, or with friends?
I'm waiting
seriously

the new songs i download i always share them
"Expanding on the idea a bit (since I've thought about this several times before) you could have each citizen get an ID and pass to access the master system to d/l music with a certain cap per month."
whatta nutcase...doesnt it sound a tad too much like brave new world?
I dont understand greedy people who DONT like to share their music...what's the point of having the newest releases n such when youre the only one enjoying it.
Stop flaming the newbies for not knowing the new hottest tune and share.
If only i could get on the hub...

| Originally posted by mr. poopyhead its an easy concept to understand... if you're the only kid with the newest toy, then you're special and you don't want to share with others. its called being an elitist. |

a lot of people say they're not willing with share to a bunch of ppl who doesn't appreciate, and respect trance as much as themselves
and i agree...i wouldn't want to either
i don't mind sharing on the internet at all
when u share on the net, they're looking for the tracks
but i hate sharing with some of the candy raving people in my class
they goto raves juss to look "cool" with their glowsticks n shit
there's this guy i know..he asks me for some good tracks..i name him classics
he takes a listen...only to tell me they all sucked

i mean...this is coming from a guy who d/ls songs from kazaa by using the search term "trance"
the same guy who can't name me 5 producers off the bat if i asked him
the same guy who has been pumping exploration of space for over 6 months..and still goin
this is why i don't share my music unless it's on the net, or unless they actually do show an interest in trance
i think i'm converting one of my friends atm

gimme my trance...
crap, lately i find any post that is over 4 lines to be extremely confusing...
arghh, my sister just asked me to make a copy of Tiesto's In Search Of Sunrise 2 for her... so that she could do her AEROBICS stuff to it!!!
OMFG!!! aerobics!! to ISOS2!!! that's just plaing wrong... just a thought of that is plain wrong... it's like masturbating to a picture of your mom.... ewwww...
some people just don't appreciate trance for what it is... WORKING OUT to ISOS2??? is that some kind of a new fetish??? wrong, just wrong...
I have 2 close friends that i like to share with. When i hear something new, i cant wait to share it with them.
the thing that i always find funny and true is that...
everytime i burn a mix, they end up liking tracks that i least suspect. And not the ones that I thought they would.
just like how everyone's taste varies here.
anyone who doesnt share their the music to friends when they ask for it simply because you think they arent good enough for the music is a fucking asswhole and should be kicked out of tranceaddict
honestly who the fuck do you all think you are?
i know that if i hadnt of givin my friend that one cd he would not be the crazy trance freek he is now( btw he was a wigger b4 trance)
honestly all of you ppl get off on this shit "oh look at me i lisen to trance and you dont i can understand it!! im so cool look at me!"
thats not what its about! TOTALLY wrong attitude and you should all be ashamed of yourself
music is great and EVERYONE is allowed to lisen
Riiiiiiiiighht......
So say if I didn't want to burn a copy of In Search of Sunrise 3 for a friend I should be kicked out of this forum? Heh...ooook.
Most of the peopel I have given a CD to say "wtf is this shit" or w/e. So I don't see the use.

well i dont see why some of u morons (JK) dnt share u ******s got it shared to you ..... but hey if the person u think is worthy enough and understands the song then sure share it after u had it for a few weeks for your self .... but if the person wouldnt know the difference from darude to some digweed..then no point in giving such morons music its just a waste ..sorry for my expressions im drunk lol
.. but then again i understand and i would be lieing if i said i didnt feel the same way and sometimes we are selfish pricks who think the music is just for us as if we fuckin made the track ..but hey all i say keep a new track for ur self for a few weeks then give out cuz hey always new tracks comming out
