Yea I also didn't want to move 3000 miles away from all of my friends and family (none of my immediate family, including aunts and uncles live outside of Washignton/Oregon) to a part of the country that is ultra conservative, religious, and has a climate that I find horrible. Aren't you Irish or something, moving across the country isn't a train ride away like it is for most other countries, its a huge distance. Its not cowardice, its just that in terms of over all living situation, in my opinion, it would be a downgrade.

Not to mention it'd be contested by the people I already have contracts with because I'd be working for a company that is partnered with a company that makes a product directly competing with what I am already working on, so from that point of view it doesn't even make sense. I'd be working for a company that is competing against myself and my stake holders.

To be honest though, if they had offered me a position at their Australian or Czech studios I'd be much more likely to move there. Florida is just fucking horrible. No one I have ever talked to with half a brain, and wasn't from Florida to begin with has ever said anything nice about living there.

You make being jobless and living in a basement sound so appealing.

Leaving on the 4th to New York, until i come back home on the 8th. So except for the expensive clubs and bars, anything i should check out? Mind you i had a high school trip at New York, so i'm done with lala-ing on the top of rockerfeller tower, ground zero, statue of liberty, etc. Suggestions?

The only places in which I've ever heard sprite, etc. referred to as 'coke' are:

Bradenton, FL
Dothan, AL
Biloxi, MS

As for NY, I suggest doing everything avana says used to be awesome but has gotten too popular.

What's that crazy seafood restaurant where the waiters break out doing a random dance? Thought that was amusing. The food was decent too. Joe's crab shack or something?

Joe's Crab Shack is a national chain. There's one in Rochester. Not sure about the dancing though.

4 pages in, and the best (aside from drugs) anyone could come up with is a movie studio-owned theme park.

I too, once spent a week in Orlando (well, Oviedo, but it's all pretty much the same), and aside from eastbound trips to the beach, it was the most boring, uninspiring, mall-infested exercise in blandness I've had the displeasure of witnessing.

So yeah, Orangesto is pretty much your only hope in getting out with your sanity intact.

I think it would be funny if you tried to play Magic with the fat guys, but every time it was your turn, treated it like Go Fish and then try to take their cards.

Besides hitting up the Theme Parks, you've also got Bush Gardens not too far from Orlando, and then you've got Cocoa Beach and Kennedy Space center and Daytona not TOO far from there.

There was also an arcade in Orlando 5-6 years ago called "Rocky's Replay" that had some cool games (like imported Japanese music and racing games) if you're into that... and if it's still there.

Since this is my first visit to the US, i have the urge to get my ass in the ghetto and see what it's like.

It's almost 7 am and i'm not sleeping. Seems i have a habit to not make it to my flights. I do not recommend celebrating your departure on the eve of that day with a bottle of vodka and a case of beer.

The Haitians are very hospitable around these parts.

It's probably not there anymore, but there used to be an incredible Virgin Megastore in downtown Disney. They had an entire room for electronic/dance music, and a massive singles section that had loads of maxi CDs of dance tracks.
