I'm still trying to figure out just when it was that DJs all of a sudden gained status somewhere between superstars and gods.
It doesn't seem like that long ago that there were just a handful (comparativly) of DJs and this superstar status was unheard of. but I can't quite figure out what it was in musical history that made everybody and their brother want to be a DJ not to mention giving some of them godlike status.

dont know about all of u, but I have personally met Tiesto. Yeap. We are friends. He shake my hand when he finished his set the one and only time he came to Cyprus!!! Im a lucky bastard!! Now everybody knows me in my country as Tiestos friend!!! :-P

Joking ofcourse. I totally agree with this thread.
I might have been the only one i my Country that got an autograph from Tiesto and thank him for his great set the one and only night he came here, but lets not exaggerate ppl, that doesnt mean that I know him personally. He just love his funs.
I have read few posts in forums of web sites that include general music informations, (dont remember the url) and people tend to leave msgs to the artists with a request to email them back. Is a joke.
There is this girl that met Nick Warren on the plane and she wants to go out with him so she posted a msg requesting him to email her back to go out. Nick, she and... her mother!!!??
Jokers!!

I agree with most of you. Now that "famous" djs are out there saying "[they] feel like superstars" it is obvious that less devoted people (i.e. the masses) are going to want to be as close as possible to them to, in their own minds, be cooler or whatever in front of other people. Personally I think they are all just plain losers, well not all, but most of them. Some actually intend to transmit some information by giving a backup source, such as saying "DJ X told me this." I just think its up to us to separate the garbage from the useful stuff. Don't you guys think
