Logic 9
Live 8
Reason 4
Maschine
I'm using Ableton 8 now primairly for its VST compatiablity, however, I still like Reason's piano roll and loop features. I also use it to "draw" and program my drum sequences although I am getting acclamated to using my Midi Device to play my drum loops live as they get a little more groove than a typical 16 step sequencer. Of course one could always apply a groove patch and shift the steps a little but I'm beginning to like sampling better than using the ReDrum. It takes time though =)
Logic - most stuff
Ableton - sample manipulation stuff
Digital Performer - standard DAW in the music for media area
ProTools - engineers like protools format.
Wow digital performer, haven't heard that name in a while. An old roommate of mine swore by it but I just could not get into it. Couldn't figure out simple midi editing/looping
still used by alot of people. Sort of why people still use pro tools. It was a standard.
I remember a Sound on Sound feature saying that Autechre used Digital Performer, back in 2004 or something. But who knows whether what those magazines say about gear is true.
yeah ,
i mean there is no point using so many DAWs except when you are given project files in that format. Most of the time, it is just name dropping. Especially in EDM.
like people that say ya i use logic and cubase and prosonus. Makes no sense. Ableton , i undertstand , but like sometimes reading the interviews, i mean it is all bullshit.
Live
Reaper 4. Started with 3.7ish since it was a few Hundred less than the big names and I had to start somewhere. There are really just two things that could be considered 'lacking'. One is pretty GUIs for the included FX/programs which are otherwise fantastic and extremely useful...and the other is spotty, support for controllers.
From a purely DAW standpoint, I like it, it's powerful and highly configurable. Since it's my one and only, I can't compare it to others other than to say it's specs are on par with the top dogs like Logic/PT/Cubase. It has a great forum and the company is highly responsive overall to customer input with regular FREE updates and bug fixes.
For the price, you cannot go wrong.

I used to do that but not being able to use certain Ableton functions pissed me off.

Ejay Clubworld for Playstation 2.
I use Cubase with Ableton as a slave also, although I recently upgraded my system to Cubase 6 64bit and rewire won't be available until one of the future updates which is a bit annoying!

Ableton Live 6 - moving to Live 8 in another 2 weeks or so...

Logic 9 for EDM production with ancient Electribe ES-1 drum machine.
Protools 9/10 for work/audio/final mixdowns if needed.
Side note: DP was popular as it was (and maybe still is) the only daw that allows you to open and work in multiple projects at once. This was vital for the live aspects of shows as you could literally open every song and traverse between each project without any lag. Nearly every keyboard guy and musical producer I've ever known used DP.
