cue sheets have been available since before podcasts and no one did them either because they are monumental wastes of time. it isn't enough to spend money, spend hours searching for music to share with like minded people via mixes...one must also become an unofficial director of marketing to truly give support to the artist even if he doesn't really give a shit IMO.

and to the people not using the podcast format? change right away so that you can better support !!

I was never going to close it, just thought two people who are easily riled up were waving handbags at each other. Fair enough it's calmed down now but at the start was more a direct attack at each other rather than a discussion.

anyway, swing away..

By the way, I'd rather have this place nice and calm than teeming with absolute shite. Quality not quantity, and by quality i mean endless repeats of which headphones, what's the best setup and the ever present random thread that pops up selling gear at unbelievably low prices!

if you aren't on itunes, your loss but at least the user still knows the track and has some chance of buying the track. To the individual that mentioned people having uncleared samples not wanting the attention, i really don't think people breaking the law should direct convention.

And if you knew what happened if you were caught , they just take your royalties. So even for those using illegal samples, there really is nothing to lose but popularity and future sales.

Guys , you are really nit picking this to death using any sort of small hurdle as an excuse to scuddle a simple idea that should really be in place anyways. Cue sheets are not the same. They require one to put effort into finding out what track. Music is an impulse purchase. Having the track playing right there in front of you is not even close to the concept of cue sheets.

Do what you want. As far as i'm concerned, any dj that doesn't do this is promoting himself using illegal material and should be blacklisted. it is a community, well start treating it like one. Playing a track on your podcast is not legal without consent. SOme big djs have it, most people don't. The least you could is make it so that the person listening to your mix, can know what track is playing. This won't steal your thunder. It makes your podcasts more attractive because believe or not, people actually want to buy EDM tracks. Regular normal non dj people.

And how the hell would the artists get support in scarce underground clubs, events and etc? Should it be like a radio jock announcing every new track with the artist and the titel?

Of course with the means of the internet you can actually promote the artists but someone must be either be dumb as f*ck to think it's always been that way.

I use Shazam. A little inconvenient, but it does the trick most of the time.
