Personally i usually tell dj's to do their thing. I would rather have the opener be happy and having fun that feeling like he has to cater to where i want to start. I've been doing this long enough to be able to start with tech house at 126 and build into trance or 130 progessive (now called trance but as some of the posters above mentioned will always be progressive to me) so i'm cool either way.

Just don't play the beatport #1 banger or "above and beyond - sun and moon" at 11:55 as it's just not the right time

IF i could choose anything before me personally? i would say chunky groovy house with some light builds to build anticipation. Sexy shit for when people are finding their spots, getting their drinks and slowly filling up the dancefloor. Basically what i would play if i was alone all night

that being said i can't fucking wait for a four hour set... going to record it too.

I like the "soon" part. I was really bummed not to be able to make it since I'm in vegas for a wedding. I like to support any of these events so promoters/clubs know that there is fan base willing to drop money at their clubs.

Now how about that set recording?

I'm sure he'll be throwing it up shortly.

I pleasantly surprised with what Max played. Thought he was gonna be a lot trancier but he played a lot of really good techy tunes. Overall was a great party and to top it off Max is just a really cool and down to earth guy Oh and thanks again Max for the little chat session before the gig, took a lot of tension off my shoulders about the opening. I've opened for pretty much all the big names but never a trance act
