nope. mine sounded good the first week, then the quality dropped rapidly... they break extremely easily and every replacement that has been sent has had shit sound right out of the box. you can get better sounding headphones for half the price easily. you pay for the name on these, not quality of material or sound.

Wh-... Th- that actually makes a lot of sense.

Thank you, come again.

Posted by tubularbills on Jan-27-2012 23:58:

I don't mind if folks have them on...but if you're talking to someone you should have them off. Around the neck is OK, but at least have the courtesy to talk to the person you're interacting with :/

Nothing Dre related should have the chance of being relevant or fashionable until he releases Detox.

Yes, and if people like the sound of mainstream dubstep, then let them!

Why, yes! Brostep before hostility, man!

(God, that was horrible )

Lira, your palate is utterly bereft of the sweet taste of condensed hatred. You are a nice man, and I pity you. Good day!

Haha, I'm capable of "hating" someone as much as the next person, but my rules are different: I usually do/say something against someone who went out of his or her way to do something against someone else first, specially if it's someone I hold dearly - or myself, of course. And, once I feel justice has been done, I go back to not caring about that person any longer.

I did mention a guy whose career I shattered after he refused to pay the money he owed to me, to my fiancée's school, and to a teacher from yet another establishment. Except for the smirk I've got on my face every time I see him, I pretty much ignore his existence now.

Edit: Oh, and by the way, I'm pretty sure that's a quote to William James, written by his father, not by him.

I SAID GOOD DAY!

There. Happy? Fuck.

Have you read the book that you linked? Touched With Fire. It's very good, I would definitely recommend.

It makes no sense to be irritated about something so trivial. Anyone having a problem with this trend (or any other) is more of a misanthropist than they might care to admit. The headphones themselves, or the shallow reasons many have for purchasing and wearing them shouldn't be a nuisance.

SYSTEM-J, it's clear that you're the kind of intelligent person who can't stand most of humanity. You see right through their stupid fashion statement fad, and as a music lover, you feel that they're disrespecting a lifestyle you take so seriously. Love of music and high-quality audio equipment shouldn't be used as fashion statements for social status. I see why it bothers you. But you should let it go for your own peace of mind. I love music as well, and I see the same thing on the streets and in the subway, but it doesn't bother me. And I'm not even suppressing any contempt or disgust, I just don't care in the first place.

They will never know the rewards of doing your research, selecting high quality audio, and finding great music. But you will. You don't have to be angry that they're not as intelligent as you, or that they don't take music as seriously.

quote:

2. "What's wrong with just using music (and expensive audio gear) as a lifestyle accessory? Everyone has a different interaction with music as an artform." I personally find anyone spending 300 on headphones just to make themselves seem more interesting to be tragically vacuous and the kind of cloying, irritating drone-person I have to navigate day in and day out in order to find the few interesting and engaging people out there in the world. So my irritation with them is a fractal shard of my overall frustration and depression caused by the sense of emotional and intellectual alienation I feel towards the world around me.

When people follow mindless fads like this, it only makes it easier for you to spot and avoid them. At least there's that.

Seriously. I just had to point out how absurd it is to be bothered by this. I see it all the time and I don't even pay attention to it, I would have never known that there were people out there who were feeling some kind of mental anguish over this. One of the pettiest pet peeves I've ever seen in my life.

Will do. I'm a great William James fan (I guess you can tell), so I must say you drew my attention the right way

Looks quite interesting as well...

for $300 i'd be expecting superb sound quality and build,

...i think dre overpriced these products knowing full well they'll sell anyway due to effective marketing strategies,

regardless of the fact that there are probably headsets that perform just as good with a lighter price tag,

though i presume there are other reasons for purchasing a bbd which are not relating to the technicalities of this product such as...

"yo it's totally 'in' this season!"

^i refrained from making such outrageous assumptions at least 7 times but FUCK it , cant deny a plausible possibility!

the array of custom colors is a nice option, the aesthetics is good (subjective anyway)..

approval by celebrities means they are worthy of wear

i havent used a bbd headset so they very well could be worth the moola!

Why is Katie Holmes shaped like E.T.?

Posted by Lira on Jan-28-2012 01:37:

Busty Moldovan DJs > Celebrities.

You know what's even more embarrassing? I searched for celebrities (or pretty much anyone, really) wearing my headphones and this was the best I could find:

Bloody pink-haired Siamese twins with three arms

Edit: Oh, found an actual person...

... I'm not sure I should feel any better
