-- Classic tracks - are they getting more scarce?

i would consider a classic nowadays that track that people keep playing it in the form of a new remix, new mashup and find a excuse to keep playing it years after it's release.
Every year there are more and more people on the earth, more music has been made, it's easily available... It's just the nature of the Digital Age. Saturation!
Assuming that there are modern songs that deserve to become classics and are drowned in a vast forever-growing ocean of music... The concept of saturation has a flip side to it I think: perhaps these forgotten tunes will be reworked/remade/remixed in later years, and it is then they will become a classic if they are truly deserving.
