I care when all this hypocritical bat-shit craziness happens in the US and then conservative leaders/mps here, start taking cues from their evangelical neighbours to the south and start trying to implement their bible into every uteri in Canada. I care when there are protesters outside the clinic I escort at every Saturday. I care when they harass patients and try to coerce or manipulate them with misinformation, completely ignoring the wants, needs and desires of the patients who want the abortion. I also care when people are apathetic or complacent and think that it's just enough to be pro-choice. And while I agree that we shouldn't still have to keep fighting this anymore, there are people like Stephen Woodworth from Kitchener and Brad Trost from Saskatchewan, who think otherwise (ironically, neither of them have a uterus to impregnate). So while you may think that this is a useless venture, when I'm in it face to face and see it with my own eyes, I know that it's important people be aware and fight back. |
