Then I figured she has probably heard this from owners of restaurants before and quite possibly this restaurant in particular and at the end of the night the pickings are too slim that she rather of had her meal then, of course this can fall into the spoiled factor but maybe at the end of the night the food selection is just to slim, it would not satisfy her and her child's hunger.

But that's me, always trying to see the good/positive motives in people that are not always there.
