"The draw for most people with live music is the sense of the event itself the moment where a cultural product they love as a kind of media gets to stake out some space in the real world. It sounds dumb and tautological to point this out, but our engagement with pop culture is almost entirely mediated; it takes place in a huge tangle of recorded sounds and recorded images and an electronic ether surrounding them."

Yeah, it's close to being as ridiculous as cramming into a sweaty area with other people while somebody operates an elaborate stereo!
I foresee this hologram technology getting very big in the porn industry!
Ever see that movie Eraser? Next will be strippers/hookers that will grind/fuck you and you'll be able to feel everything!
I want a hologram of myself at work.

Tupac aside, we did it! We finally figured out holograms! That shit used to be science fiction.
Supposedly, the first gen of holographic televisions is going to be available commercially by the end of the year. Goddamn future!
I remember playing this holographic arcade game way back. Holograms are nothing new.
