We just got to respect what we all enjoy. The real problem comes when weed actually gets in your way and you do less things such as talk or go out. It don't do it for me, so i can enjoy it quite regularly. And the legalizing thing well there are many pros and cons on both sides i think it'll change little for me and my Mari-Jane in the Future.
Just take care of yourselves and enjoy life and trance! |
well put goyasme...
i can practically do anything when im high...i know when to smoke and when not to also...does that mean everyone who smokes knows their limit???...not sure bout that one, but i know what im capable of and i respect those people that do smoke without bein an idiot...i also appreciate non-smokers cuz i just recently quit cigarettes...ok...maybe not cold turkey, i went from a pack a day to about 2-3 cigs a day...quite an improvement....anyhow, i still smoke weed regularly...atleast once a day...its what i enjoy...
there are soooooooooo many "in the closet" smokers out there...a lot of people in the corporate world goes home and smokes to relieve stress or to just enjoy company with friends...yet when they step outside of their home or into their workplace, its the "i don't smoke weed" attitude automatically cuz its 1. illegal and 2. its supposedly professionals at work that don't do that kind of shiet...but its still undeniable...ALOT OF PEOPLE SMOKE TREES, in the closet or not...
so as long as people know their limits and do it within their means, then NO ONE should lecture or bitch them out for doing what they enjoy...
i.e. there are alot of people who enjoy postin on this forum...some do it to the extreme yet its tolerated...some are asses but we try and deal wit it...life is a bitch sometimes and weed is part of life...shiet its fukin au Naturale...having said that...just know that if any of you see me in a club and im lifted, then lets have a good time cuz i wouldn't have it anyother way...peace...
ps..goyasme, we should meet up one day...i'll smoke ur ass out wit some serious berry-ponics
...u will like very mucho...hehe...
it sucks, cuz i was in monteal only a few weeks ago to see AVB at Aria...shiet...maybe next time...
pss...mans_wp...listen, u don't smoke...we understand that...but don't knock it if u don't appreciate it like others...again, weed is smoked by soooooooooooooo many people...even people u might know that u don't think does...they might...its crazy but alot of fukin people out there do...i couldn't believe that there were so many either...that doesn't mean we should all do it but im just sayin, the amount of those who actually don't or wouldn't ever put marijuana to their lips is small in number, and those who knock others for doin it is even less...so just accept it and if u don't like it, then just walk away...thats the only advice i could give for non-smokers... and if the crime rate rises even .00001 percent and people knock the new law for legalizin weed, then those people should really just fuk off cuz thats the dumbest thing i've ever heard...
legalizin marijuana will:
1.reduce crime and illegal drug trafficking
2.allow government to regulate amount of marijana distribution
3.prevent wasteful expenditure of tax dollars on tryin to prevent the previous two points...
all in all, its going to be legalized one day...i feel that its inevitable...and i personally believe, as with alcohol and the prohibition, once weed is legalized: people will go a little crazy at first and splurge but as with anything that is "allowed", people will also get bored with it and become modest and moderate...
if ur not sure bout that: read ur history bout amsterdam and it should clear up any doubt about civilian mentality once something so forbidden is legalized amongst the general public...
sorry bout the ramblin, just thought i should get all that off my chest and hope that it makes sense to some people here...
and lastly, if im in any of your neighborhoods in the future, just pm me and we'll smoke together...hehe...

the biggest problem with weed legalisation is that its addictive. Do we wanna see children addicted to it at young age? (look at 12yrs old with cigs).
Also, weed is an entry level drug to hard drugs. I know not every pothead does crack, you get the idea.

addictive???....cmon malek...weed is sooooooooooooooo not addictive...do u mean addictive as in cocaine or heroine??...or as in cigarettes...funny thing is coke, heroine, and cigarettes are more addictive than marijuana...as crazy as that sounds....anyhow, kids who smoke cigs at age 12, or any age for that matter, will become addicted, both mentally and habitually...marijuana does not have any addicting additives, as found in cigs and "hard" drugs...the high manufactured from the drug may create users to frequent the drug but the drug itself does not have addictive elements inherent to the nature of the drug...if at best, the drug creates an habitual dependency, the action of smoking something, anything...like smokers trying to quit smoking have trouble due to the need to inhale smoke every x times a day....weed, at best, is addictive in that manner...
as for weed being a "gateway" drug to harder drugs??...well, this topic is touchy and a sensitive one...some feel that it is, while some feel that its not...as for me, i admit that i probably never would have tried ecstacy if it wasn't for my minor love of weed...i say minor b/c the ironic thing is, i actually started to smoke more weed after beginning to drop ecstacy so its kind of a reverse situation...ecstacy was my gateway into weed...haha...anyhow, its nothing to be proud of but i know what makes me happy and i pursue that...
I would never ever fuk wit cocaine, heroine, acid, or any seriously addicting hard drug...i'm thinking of tryin shrooms but not even sure when im going to do that...so basically, i enjoy weed and the occasional pill at clubs...am i a threat to do harder drugs?...me no...the next joe, maybe...but that shouldn't alter the legalization of weed...trust, confidence, and maturity is what the gov't must convey and show to their people...not fear, doubt and being worrysome...people forget that when alcohol was illegal, people abused it even more and charged ridiculous prices and offered dangerous-dirty products...kinda like whats happening with weed for the past 50 years...
if the public is allowed eventually to smoke weed legally, i think that the next step is to educate the public...then perhaps myths such as weed addiction and being a gateway to harder drugs would not be such an issue...especially being a gateway to harder drugs...i knew how dangerous harder drugs were: they are very addictive and cause heavy dependency but i learned this from friends, school and street knowledge...once weed is legal, and if teens over 18 are going to try it, the governement has a great opportunity to report harmful effects of weed, as they already do in canada on cigarette boxes... this could educate the general public and make them clearly understand the dangers of harder drugs in relation to weed....once poeple understand the difference between weed and other hard drugs, im sure drugs like weed would be used in moderation and probably people that never would've known truths about weed and other hard drugs would finally get some education...that in itself would be worth legalizing the drug...as it is right now...users think they know everything but most users of weed, or any other drug, know the effects that is passed on from word of mouth....is that the best source??...hell no...
im not knockin any of the non-smokin views but factual accuracy matters and thats why im replying...sorry malek..hehe...but weed is not addictive as u think and definitely not a gateway to harder drugs...its been documented and profiled already...i'll do some research for articles if u want malek...just lemme know if u want that info...
regardless of what we say here, teens or going to do drugs or try them atleast...if its legal, then the chances to educate them would be easier and also the government could regulate the usuage by its citizens...as it is now, illegal, kids listen to myths..abuse excessively cuz its cool to do illegal things, and furthermore, without the proper education, kids think that all drugs, including harder drugs, are not as dangerous as it seems cuz weed wasn't dangerous at all...just fun and care-free...thats the danger when drugs are illegal...misinformation and assumptions...which might proceed into the consumption of harder drugs...so legaliztion doesn't sound too bad to me...not cuz i enjoy weed but there are many other positive results from legalizing it...
and i haven't even begun to talk of the economics of legalizing weed for the governement...
thats for another time...hehehe...but enuough rambling for now...sorry bout the novel...i just get a lil passionate sometimes...
omfg i just checked this post and it says that it was posted by DJ AI, my roomate..oops..it was by me, jparknyc, by tha way...im using our living room computer and it must be logged in under his name....sorry bout confusion...but he smokes weed too so i don't think he will mind...hehe..

well.. i don't really have an opinion about this, i just want to say that weed is addictive. i'm not smoking.
if you are talking about the weed you pick up from the plant and you smoke it, OKAY it's not addictive.
BUT if you are talking about the weed you bought on street, at Berri-UQAM, at your friend or any person you know, this weed is addictive. 95% of the smoked weed in Montreal is from Hell Angels & friends. The weed you get from your friend is addictive. Last experimentations done in labs by the police show clearly that this weed is addictive. Worst, young persons are even more touched by this than older ones. A child of 10 years need to smoke only 5 time in a month to become a bit addicted (nothing compared to physical addiction related to hero or coke, but still a kind of addiction.)
And, beside this, you have the "social addiction" which I think I don't have to explain... you'are 13, all your friends are smoking, you need to smoke nobody can't deny this, social pression is enormous at this age.

razoryokes, ive also done research and ur right, there are some crapped up laced garbage on the streets...i don't know bout hell's angels and all that stuff in montreal but in nyc, its $$$ for quality...which i normally buy...i guess ur right bout the junk that may be addictive but that is not the case with quality buds which would be available, im assuming, if weed is legalized...i doubt the government would sell junk with additives or even allow such crap to be available...thats another positive result from legalization...quality that u could trust...

unbelievable... can't believe all the misconceptions and incorrect information people are posting in this thread... educate yourselves before you form your opinions and state so called "facts"... and by education, i don't mean just repeating what you heard from some guy or what your best buddy told you, i mean pick up a book AND READ... pick up a newspaper and READ... go on the internet and READ... and know and understand what you are reading, who wrote it, what their intentions are behind what they wrote, etc...
anyways, a few facts... if you doubt them, go look it up for yourselves...
marijuana is not physically addictive... any drug that is physically addictive can create a physical addiction, where your body craves and wants the drug... examples: ketamine, crack, heroin, nicotine, etc...
the addiction potential of marijuana is considered to be very low,
however, marijuana can be psychologically addictive for a small percentage of users (between 6%-10% in most studies)...
in the one place where marijuana is basically legal (amsterdam, holland) statistics show that the legalisation of weed had hardly any impact on the number of users there... and statistics also show that the percentage of young people using marijuana in holland is lower than that in the United states...
draw your own conclusions, but to me (as well as the canadian senate committee) it's pretty obvious that the use of marijuana is a social and/or health problem, not a criminal problem... decriminalization (and possibly legalization at some point in the future) is the only sensible route to go...

weed is not addictive in its natural state... i also know bout the physical addiction problem...as u stated:

this only goes to show that weed usuage doesn't necessarily increase with legalization...another plus for legalizing it...instead when prohibited, as it is in the US and most parts of the world, the temptation proves to be stronger and more illicit, therefore increasing the mischeivous behavior of attaining and abusin the drug...
all in all, i know that the legalization of weed in every facet conveys a clear message of positive change...the sooner recognized, the sooner governments around the world could relieve the stress induced from prohibition of the damn drug...sheesh...
thx for clarifying things to the newbs jazz..

hmmm, about the addction thing, I'd have to say that I personally think it is, and I know most of my friends do too. Most people I know have cut down a lot, and especially me, like I said I don't smoke that much now, but ask me that about 1 1/2-2 years ago.... whole different story. I went 8 years not missing a day, and at the end when I was smoking everyday, it wasn't even because I wanted to smoke, but out of the habit of doing it, I needed to. What you guys feel like doing?........ lets smoke a joint. That was always the answer to that question. It definetly is addictive, but not more so then many things, tv, computers, chocolates, candies and defintely not ciggarettes, or any hard drug!

hey rizzler, i know exactly what u mean...but thats just mental and psychological addiction...its just behavioral...thats a big difference from physical addiction...
as of now im trying to quit smoking desperately...i think about cigarettes all day, almost every fifteen minutes i have the urge to smoke a cig but thats total physical addiction...when u want to stop, u can't...its that kind of addiction thats troublesome and dangerous...
marijuana, good quality, does not have any attributes that cause physical addiction...if u are psychologically addicted, then u still have the ability to control that and the urge can be dismissed rather easily....anyone who has tried quittin smoking cigarettes knows that its not easy at all...as a matter of fact its fukin annoying cuz i urge it soooooo bad at times...but i just bite my lip and say no...yet the urge just keeps tickling the back of my mind and its so exhausting fightin it all the time...thats addiction...im just glad that marijuana will not be as hard to kick when i want to...whew...
jus remember, au naturale...its not just by accident that god created a plant to make us feel this way....or is it?...thats another messy discussion...lets not bother..hehehe....
and riz, im not tryin to sound like a know it all but don't preach stuff too like weed IS addictive b/c then u begin to fuel the garbage myths out there...i understand what u mean by feeling addicted but it really isn't...atleast thats what the researchers and scientists claim, although the US gov't doesn't want its citizens to know that...jeez, i hate how anal this country is sometimes...

Well jparknyc let me tell you something, when it comes to weed I definitely have enough experience and knowledge to be able to give a sound opinion on it. I've been around weed for over 10 years now, and I can say that I know hundreds of people that smoke, some of the heaviest you can possibly meet, and others that are just social puffers. Never the less, everyone I know that was a heavy smoker, felt they had the same form of addiction to weed as cigarettes, I even know some people who had a lot easier time quitting cigarettes then weed when they were desperate to stop smoking it. Don't try telling me it's not addictive, I'm not lying when I'm saying how I personally felt, and I did actually feel a physical dependence on it, when I was smoking very heavily it used to be that if I didn't smoke by a certain time I would get the shakes, and I'm sure that's some what physical. I've known about weed well before I even actually smoked it, I learnt about it at a very young age, I was always a supporter for it to be legalized because it's impossible for someone to tell me that alcohol can be legal, and marijuana can't, I've never believed anyone could give justifiable reasons for that.
Fueling the garbage of myths out there.........hmmmm, you must be young right? ........ because that's how you sound to me. <----- that's not insulting anyone about age, but talking about experience.

ur funny cuz first of all when my birthday comes around next year and i turn 27, wow 27, then u could call me young again...as for sounding young...hmmm...i don't think so...whether u feel one way and all ur hundreds of friends that smoke, the truth is the truth...IT DOES NOT HAVE ADDICTIVE ATTRIBUTES...don't get mad with me for tellin you the truth...get mad at the scientists and researchers...im just tellin you how it is...you've been around weed for 10 years and what???...that makes u qualified to discredit scientists out there?....i dunno bout that...and how u personally feel bout this is irrelevant...im tellin u FACT...NO ADDICTIVE ATTRIBUTES...sorry but thats the TRUTH...
u get tha shakes??....then u must be smoking shietty laced up weed...as for why else u get the shakes?...hmmm...i really couldn't tell you cept that its either laced wit additives or ur just mentally addicted to it...u know habitual patterns do play tricks on the mind....
and as for ur 100 friends that smoke and blah blah blah...listen i really can't get into all that cuz this is a public forum but when i come to montreal to see corsten ( crossin mah fingers its wit picotto ), then perhaps we could just clarify things then...and don't get mad or offended but the truth is the truth...i ain't got no qualms wit u bout this...its NOT ADDICTIVE...end of story...as for why u and ur friends believe it is so, i can only repeat, and sound repetetive at this point, its a habitual and mental addiction to the high and expectancy of bein high as frequent as u may have been everyday...
if u get really really good shiet, u have to first of all smoke less frequent, get tha same really fuked up high that i like, and not feel crusty and shietty in the morning...
think about it...less smoking cuz good grade weed throughout the days, weeks, months, years results in less habitual and mental dependency...it makes sense plus u run no risk of having angel dust or anyother addictive additives laced in the weed, normally found in street bags and small quantity bags that local drug dealers hustle...
by the way, i dunno if u do so but i get mah shiet in weight at about $5800 per pound...thats street price...if u get 5 pounds, that gets a discount...thats what good shiet costs...u do the math...then tell me if u think im still young soundin and if i don't know shiet bout addiction and weed...but im with u bout legalization and i hope that u do understand what im tryin to say...
ultimately, if u don't believe me, then just do your research...i don't know what you learned "at a young age" but what u can learn now is widely available over the internet...
if u find something to validate ur point, then come back and talk to me...other than that, im goin to believe the scientists out there...i think they're more qualified than either you or me...and i understand its just ur opinion but ima ask u again not to spread stuff like that as fact..."fueling the garbage myths out there" makes me sound young huh...well, the truth is its not physically addictive...so who sounds naive?...let alone younger?...but whatever...im tellin u fact, NOT MAH PERSONAL OPINION...is that fair enough for you...is that mature enough?...
i can't believe this is the 3rd post that im writin regarding this...aye...
believe whatever u want...is that better?...im just tryin to tell u what i've learned through my research and experience with marijuana...k...hope this brings closure to this...
Posted by TheRizzler on Sep-10-2002 16:51:
The only thing I neeed to validate my point is my experience and those of people I know. Researchers and scientists have never done studies and not gotten accurate facts before?
I don't know what you're smoking or who's ripping you off that you're street price for weed comes to the equivalent of 5800$ per pound, but that's just hilarious. I know what I smoke, most marijuana is not laced with anything, it's just grown under super high quality conditions, especially in Quebec. I know for a 100% fact that the weed I smoked regurally was not laced.
Anyhow, you're right, no need to keep aruging, just a waste of time.
Posted by mastercongo on Sep-10-2002 18:00:
5800$ a pound? dam for that you get a 20 foot container in mexico :P lol j/k
