That doesn't seem very far from the commercial world and most of the stuff I've seen from him on youtube have been along similar lines. Pretty worrying stuff if this is stretching the underground boundaries. Imagine if Digweed or Sasha or Cox played one of these parties lol.

Mark Farina has always played stuff like this. This has nothing to do with the commercialization of dance music.

Also, lol @ judging Mark Farina based on "most of the stuff I've seen on youtube".

1) I didn't say it had anything to do with the commercialization of dance music. I said that it wasn't far off from commercial music since it's a beastie boy remix (or at least sounds like one). Any top 40 club would dance to this because of that.

2) What's wrong with seeing what a DJ plays on youtube? I didn't say Farina was limited to that at any point in my post (if that clarifies my position on him). I can't remember the last time there was a set posted by him or even the last time he was in the city. However, that is irrelevant because the point I tried to make was the music he plays is not very underground and (like the vid posted) a lot of it could potentially appeal to a more commercial crowd.

I do not understand this article for a couple reasons. First they say a House DJ got kicked off the bill, for playing underground House. Why would they book a house dj, to play a electronic music event? That makes no sense since House is not electronic music. Secondly, going by the video that was posted of the dj, he doesn't play house, & his music sounds commercial.

You must be really stupid, or not know about music, & clubbing. Do you know what kind of clubs are in Vegas? Calvin Harris isn't underground, he is a cheese electronic music maker, making songs with Rhianna, so Carly Rae Jepsen should not be a stretch.

Who were you talking to Buddy? I did not see you quote anyone for your response. Also you made this thread on the forum for members to see, & reply. Don't get mad, because a member gave you a lesson on clubs, & music, without using dumb pics like you.

You are the troll, that comes up from holes. You posted your dumb comment, & I replied. Do not get mad at me because you do not know about clubs, or music.

Hey moron, you posted the quote in this thread, on Tranceaddict. If you did not want to post it, or people reply to it on Tranceaddict, then you should have not logged into Tranceaddict, & hit the reply button.

Do not get butthurt now, because the point you were trying to make, got deflated. Maybe before you make threads about clubs, & music, you should learn first about them.

PS: Wannabee producers, & djs, who are wearing sunglasses in clubs, in their souncloud pics, should not talk about underground music.

Farina is definitely one of the most entertaining DJs to watch spin.

What does this even mean?

You are making this statement based off of one song from a video off of Youtube. Have you even seen him play live?

This was an outdoor pool party during the day. This is an appropriate song to play for that atmosphere, and should not take away from his credibility.

I have seen Farina play some of the most warped, mind-bending sets that rival any heavy weight DJ like Sasha, Digweed, etc. Farina is on the A-list. When he's on, dance music doesn't get much better that.

Calvin Harris just got the boot today ...

that I don't have a problem with..LOL

You are taking what I said out of context. Please stop implying that I know nothing about Farina because that isn't the case. I haven't even given my opnion on him as a DJ in this thread nor have I discussed his career or how versitile of a DJ he is ( I don't know if it was directed at me but I never discussed his credibility either but for the record I have a great deal of respect for him and simply posting that video was in no means intended to be a cheap shot at him). The point I refered to is that judging from what I've heard from him (which once again, doesn't seem to be any more/less commercial than the vid I posted which could mean a possible change in musical direction although that remains to be seen) is not material which a top 40 crowd would find to be particular for the patrons and therefore is a very sad move on part of the club to find him inappropriate for the night. In fact, I'd say Farina being the veteran that he is would be smart enough to look around and appropriately choose what would be right for the patrons at that time and blend it into his signature sound.

Does this clarify my postion? I didn't intend to start an argument over this.

Decent read on the growing divide between the long existent scene and the new one.

I do not make music. I am a DJ, I play music, not my own, so I am a good judge at identifying wannebee producers, & other djs. The guys that take their styling tips from MTV, & Jersey Shore, like your friend, are some of the funniest.

Can't believe you're still denying you're nick.t. Please do us all a favour and stay the eff outta threads cause they seem to take a quick spiral downwards and die as soon as you get in there. That's all I have to say and will not respond to anything else you have to write, thanks and buh-bye.

I am who?

I can respond in any thread, to any person I want, I do not need your permission. I cannot help that your friend, who made this thread, does not know about Vegas clubs. I hope you do not respond to me, becuase I never asked you to. Thanks, & au revoir.
